Not a Falcons fan but that one hurt me too. I'm just trying to imagine what a championship is going to feel like. It's gonna happen folks.

It's going to be like the Braves. We're going to have to make it to the big game 6 times before we can muscle through for a win.

That's the vortex of suck were all stuck in. Am I a Falcons fan? Not really or at least not close to most on here. I watch them out of a general regional interest and because I've grown up with them. But GOD DAMMIT when one of these atlanta teams gets to this level it's hard to be from Georgia and not be hopeful

Oh yeah so we have 1 legit title and 1 shared title.
1.5 total titles for the state since 1990

Oh God, Tech's probably going to break the state's championship drought.

This happened to us in 2007.
Vandy blew a 19 point 4th quarter lead against Tennessee.
Tennessee loses that game and we are in the SECCG with a chance for a Natty as the hottest team in the country. But instead... we are Georgia. We can't have nice things.

All the crying pussies on this board make me want to puke. The Falcons had a great season but for some bad play calling in the Super Bowl. The playoff wins against Seattle and Green Bay were epic. I can't wait for the Falcons to destroy the Patriots in the new stadium.

We just blew one of the largest leads in super bowl history. That would have brought this town its first championship in 20+ years. We have the right to be really upset about that so you can just go frick right off

Agreed. And it's not just the loss. It's the circumstances of the loss. The Falcons had Brady's number. The defense was smothering the run, and that's not even their specialty.
For the majority of the game, the Patriots weren't the better team... until they were. The final 20 mins of that game show you how decisive that edge can be when you've been there before. Maybe it was "just another Super Bowl" for the Pats going into it, but they kept their composure and didn't freak out at what was happening for the first 3 quarters.
Their motto this year was "Do Your Job", and that's precisely what they did.
It stings like a motherfricker, I'm not even going to pretend it doesn't.
Before the game, I was trying to manage my expectations. I told myself, "Well, even if they lose, it's a big deal that they even made it. 30 other teams are watching it from their couches." But when you lose in such an epic, unprecedented meltdown of Biblical proportions, you don't want to even think of the game, much less gloss it over with a coat of nostalgia.
I don't know what we'll one day call this Super Bowl, but for now, it's That Game Which Must Not Be Named. The Volderbowl.
