I'm not a fan of some of their Bro country but "May We All" and "Dirt" are both really good songs to me.

Cheesy lyrics

No creative music or interesting riffs or really anything that would set it apart from a Luke Bryan song

That's a damn lie.

There's nothign wrong with phish, craft beer, or weed. I just get annoyed when people try to define themselves by music, liquids, or plants.

That one "Confession" isn't bad either. Actually, anyone they don't rap in i'll probably not change the station..

SOMetimes you just want to bob your head while driving down the road though. Instead of worrying about whatever bullshite you have to do when you get there.

I mean I don't consider myself a music snob at all, but I hate this song for the same reason you don't like whatever song you don't like...Just doesn't do it for me in terms of lyrics, musical composition, etc. Not that I claim to be an expert on those things, I just don't like this tune.

You're right about one thing, though- it should be Georgia Florida Line. frick em for that if nothing else.

If GFL would come out and say "yeah we know we're just capitalizing on the bro-country market to make a buck" I would respect them about 100x more.

The fact that they pretend to be "country" is somewhat irksome. When I think country music I think merle, waylon, willie, straight, jones, hank, conway, et al. Those people legitimately went through hardships, had drinking problems, went through life 1000 mph, and that came out in their music.

FGL simply went to google and plugged some keywords into a generic verse generator that spit out something dealing with dirt roads, coolers, trucks, fields, farms, jeans, and girls. They wear bedazzled clothes, weird leather wrist things, and name brand designer $200 shirts. Sorry but that ain't country.

Keep in mind I'm not saying people that like them are wrong, I'm just saying they're pretenders.

From Wikipedia, here's why they suck...

quote:

The duo met at Belmont University in 2008 through a campus worship group, and following graduation, decided to give themselves two years to succeed as a country duo. They moved in with one another and began several odd jobs to pay bills, while playing clubs on the weekends.[11][13] While independent, they recorded and digitally distributed their first EP, Anything Like Me (2010).[11] They were discovered by Nickelback producer Joey Moi at a county fair, and the three began entering the studio together.[12] Unlike typical country music sessions, the group spent days polishing songs, which were collected on the duo's second EP, It'z Just What We Do (2012). In terms of production, the band modeled their sound on bands such as Nickelback, Shinedown, and Three Days Grace, while Moi aimed for each song to resemble hair metal group Def Leppard in structure.[12] Major labels became interested when the song "Cruise" first aired on satellite radio on "The Highway" channel and began selling well on iTunes, leading to a deal with Republic Nashville/Big Machine Label Group.[12]
