Yeah, we're lucky to have a coach who couldn't finish in the top half of the conference with 2 1st team all-conference players.

We haven't played exciting basketball though, which is why I don't think we've seen good attendance/support. We're #281 in 3-pt percentage, we didn't really run the floor a lot, our defense wasn't that impressive, etc. Having a slower offense that plays through a post player just isn't going to bring in average fans in droves.

I disagree with that... we have had a lot of exciting games. The negative has been that we have lost a lot of the exciting games.

I can't really put my finger on it. I can just tell you, as someone who has been a close fan of this program since the early 80s, I just don't feel like there is an energy around the program like there should be. Maybe it is Fox, but I think it is deeper than him. Frankly, I think we are as big of a sleeping giant in hoops as we are in football. Hell, we probably have more runway in basketball. Not sure if firing Fox will change anything significantly long term.

Btw, he did finish in the top half of the SEC and turned a 2* and a 3* into all SEC players. JJ is one of the most exciting players we have had since LG... we just need some more 4*s on the roster to complement them.

The energy comes from big wins and/or exciting style. Under Fox, we lack both.

Huge difference in playing in close games and playing an exciting brand of basketball.

Wrong, we're the 8th seed in the tournament, that's in the bottom half.

I thought this was interesting: Only twice in the past ten years has an SEC team had two players on the year-end all conference first team and not made the tournament. Both instances the teams fired their coach that same year. Fox has shown he can develop lower ranked guys, but it hasn't translated to any real success.

All you have to do is fire the coach and the program will instantly turn around.

No guarantee the program improves with a coaching change, but its happened multiple times in the past 25 years, so for you, k9, and d22 to act like its not possible is just dumb.

When did I say anything that resembled that? If you want to be county for the sake of being county, go ahead, just know we know...

No one said that one player wasnt exciting. We are talking about the overall team and offensive style coached by Fox.

You made a poor assumption as if it was a bad thing. Thats all.

I made an assumption based upon your irrational assumption that UGA wouldnt be able to keep a winner in Athens.

historically we have not been able to... what is your assumption based on?

Historically as in one guy who was a former UK assistant and UK just happened to have an opening because their coach was hired by the Celtics? That required special timing and circumstance.

According to the 247 composite rankings, Fox has signed this

18-3*
2-2*
2-No Ranking

JJ Frazier was a 3*, not 2*. He was the 211 ranked player overall. He was even #156 and the #6 overall player in Georgia according to 247.

So 2 All SEC players out of 18 its not something that is unheard of out of that number.

Let's not forget that the only reason that Maten was a 3* is because he came on big during his senior year, and Michigan State went hard after him during high school.

So, you agree that historically, the only hot up and comer we hired left us for a better job?

Under very unique circumstances, which can't be applied to the uga job in general as you are doing. Tubby to uk was a perfect storm scenario:

1) Blue blood jobs are few and far between and do not open often, 2) especially one tied directly to the head coach of uga, and 3) even if one did, there is no guarantee our guy would be their #1 choice.

Again, we have literally had one up and coming coach who was hot and he left us. So that is our baseline. The only up and comers besides him either saw their career die here or stagnate here...

That doesn't mean I can assure the future, but my assumption has more merit than your's...
