The project is expected to include moving the locker rooms to the west side of the stadium, and adding a recruiting room next to the locker rooms. UGA athletics director Greg McGarity will make a funding request to the board about the project, according to an agenda of the meeting, which begins Tuesday afternoon.

Yep. This got brought up preseason last year and they were supposedly going to do some preliminary studies so they knew what funds to request. Im all for it if they want to clean up that area under the bridge

I'm pumped because it's finally going to bring us into the 21st century in this kinda thing, which is awesome.

I haven't seen detailed plans so I'm curious how some of the logistics will work, mainly when the team runs onto the field pregame it's going to be hella odd seeing them come from the west instead of the east. Do we know what's going to happen on the east side where the current lockerrooms are?

Hopefully a brothel of sorts for recruits. Just loaded up with private VIp rooms and some of Athens finest Talent.

I could see that being slightly cooler since then they would be running at the opposing team also coming out. That and they would be running into the main part of the stadium so it'll look bigger to them (not that that matters much).

Hopefully they'll be converted to an engine room so we can pump more heat into the visiting locker room.

Plans that were commissioned last fall are supposed to be presented to the board today so I imagine well get a look soon.

Nothing has been said about east side yet. My guess is visitor locker rooms stay there but they repurpose the rest of the space for some sort of recruiting/premium seating option

In fact, forget the blackjack and blow.

On phone but highlights from other site:

-$63m
- done by 2018 season
- scoreboard will move back closer to the bridge. Looks like that west seating area is going to be more vertical. Lockerroom area underneath will have gates opening into the field. Looks like there will be a plaza area between the bridge and seating where there is currently just open space. Looks like entry gates under bridge might be going away?
-Official capacity will increase to 92,760.

Also a proposed seating pavilion of some sorts for the croots.

Big fan of this project

Wow. Everything about this...

Well...maybe with the exception of the gates under the bridge. That was one of my favorite ways to enter the stadium.

Also, very small thing and could just be a mistake on the part of the renderer, but it looks like the outline around the lettering is changed from red (which it is now) to black. More emphasis on black in branding going forward?

Again, very small and could be nothing.

Very nice, and I like that it will be done before the '18 season. We are catching up fast!

I'm curious to see what the scoreboard will do, it's supposed to be upgraded as well but that picture shows no changes. Wonder if we're finally gonna get a bigger one

Yep, the existing board is 75’ x 46'. The new scoreboard will be 100’ x 52’.

So, I noticed a big ornamental gate and they'll probably have some other commercial ornamental go up somewhere... Time to make some phone calls.

The gates under the bride would suck for us in 133 in the lower rows as that was the easiest way out and to concessions/bathrooms

I like it. Will update that end of the stadium for sure.

I really wish they would toss in another $mill to do something with the facade of the staircases.
