I just watched the video of Shawn Williams play in the UF game a few years back. It got me thinking that it's been one of my favorite plays at UGA the last few years. I'm sure there are much better plays but something about this play just stood out to me at that time and now. Williams was such a beast for us.

If we had won the game then Alec Ogletree's blocked field goal return in the SEC Championship would have gone down as the greatest play in UGA history imo.

That said my favorite play is a tie between Murray's 50 yard QB keeper against Tennessee in 2013, or Ogletree slamming Godhigh, word to WWE Monday Night Raw, in 2012 against Tech.

After Shawn called everyone out and then made that play...

I'm with OP.

That or Malcom Mitchell's TD catch and run.

Probably Malcolm Mitchell's TD against UF

Although if it weren't for that BS holding call, I'd say that the most epic play would have been Gurley's first Kickoff Return when he ran it back against Auburn after coming off his again, BS suspension. I was going nuts.

I'll base mine in terms of the play that made me jump off the couch and go ape shite and run laps around the house screaming like a lunatic the most in the last 5 years.........

It would have been Gurley's 100 yard kick-off return for a TD against AUburn in 2014 his first time touching the ball after coming back from the bullshite suspension......but that one was called back.

So, I'll agree with DirtyDawg and go with Alec Ogletree returning the blocked FG attempt against Bama in the 2012 SEC championship game.

This was probably the high water mark for the entire Richt era and UGA football as a whole post-Herschel Walker. Going up 21-10 against alabama late in the third quarter for a SEC championship and a national championship opportunity.

After that play, I really thought it was finally our time. You could see it, and almost touch it and taste it. It was so close. Man.....

Good one. I was watching that at my house with a few friends, one of whom went to Auburn. Went apeshit obviously, then got made fun of. Just responded something to the effect of, "Whatever, the refs can't bail yall out everytime. Auburn is so, so fricked."

I was right.

There was that play, the fake punt that we threw to I think shakenneth that got down to the 1, and I think there was a 4th down play as well that we got a little tricky and converted a big gain that all got called back. And the fake punt and the 4th down were both early in the 1st, maybe even our first drive.

Can't believe we still whooped their arse even with all that.

When I read the thread title one play jumped into my mind like Jarvis Jones leaping for an interception. But it wasn't an interception.

Jarvis fricking Jones breaking Gator hearts by causing a fumble to ice the game. I hit the ceiling.

that was so damn awesome.

As a freshman in '12 he was incredible but ya never know if a guy is going to keep up the pace that 2nd year, especially since he's a "name" now and people are gunning for him.

First play 75 yards and he frickin torched that defense. Reminiscent of herschel's 76 yarder against SC in 80.

Take your pick from the Clemson game in Athens

Touchdown Gurley!!

I also loved AM's 50 yard td run against TN.

I think the answer is Ogletree's touchdown though. A buddy of mine just moved to Miami, and I sent him a text telling him to get the couch ready for me.

All great plays mentioned here I'll never forget.

Although not one single play, I'll add Gurley's 4th quarter/Overtime takeover at Tech in 2013. LINK

Favorite UGA Play last 5 years?
This extremely fast pixel

I was there for this! Man...I wish we used Smith more offense. I think that year we used both Boykin and Smith. But damn Smith is fast.
