That's the maddening thing not just about UGA basketball, but SEC hoops in general. Hell, we swept the Cocks and lost to Auburn.

Because UGA's basketball team isn't very good. Not as bad as Auburn, but certainly capable of losing to them.

For essentially the same reason Auburn beat Kentucky.

They got incredibly hot from 3 in both games.

Also, we're not very good.

Yep, seems like our best players have to be hot to win even routine games and when they are not we can lose to anyone. We simply don't have the talent to be a consistently good shooting team.

Is he also the reason we swept SC?

It's basketball, not football. All it takes is one or 2 guys for you having an off night and 1 or 2 guys for them getting hot and it's anyone's game.

That's the game that kills our resume. Fox sat Maten for a huge part of the 1st half and the deficit went from 8 to 18.

Also we let 2 of their shooters get hot and go off. Didn't show up until the 2nd half. Wish we could get that one back.

on the road in the SEC aint the easiest thing either. They got hot, we didn't til late. Sucks, but that's UGA basketball these days.

Agreed. But, I believe they were without their best player or 2 as well, right?

UGA is 1 good wing player and a Charles Mann graduation away from being a sweet 16 team. With Maten/Frazier/Gaines, there is a VERY good nucleus of players, but we have absolutely no production from our forwards. Parker coming back next year will help, but we'll still probably play Kessler way too much and it will hurt us.

Sadly GAines is a senior, but I'm still alreayd pumped for next year.

1-Frazier
2-
3-Edwards/KPG
4-DO
5-Maten

Is a very solid start. I'm not counting on Parker unless I actually see him on the court. One of hte new guys (I think it's crump) is very good and should help out at the 2 immediately. JJ/Turtle/Crump/ should be good. We'll be solid in the post. Mike Edwards really progressed very well the second half of the season and should be servicable at the 3. KPG has a versatile skillset and has logged some quality PT. Wilridge has potential he just never got much PT last year.

Sadly kessler will continue play. He'll never do anything on offense but at the very least he hustles and is good for a few rebounds. But my hope is taht his minutes will dwindle significantly.

Idk how all the other SEC teams look but we should be about on par or better next year, IMO. Losing Kenny is major and despite his faults, we'll miss charles. But nothing tells me we can't make the tourney next season.

Don't forget Jordan Harris. Both he and Crump will be immediate contributors.

I still can't grasp sitting Maten that long. I could not believe it when it happened and it cost us the game
