In a rising rate environment, it is good to have this much capital because it isn't just "sitting around" it is earning millions on top of itself.

BTW... the parking thing has always been an issue since the BM was built. There is literally no Parking around there. To make it worse, the UGA police knew we had nowhere to park other than kinda close on the far end of the colesium lot. Those frickheads would ticket the frick out of us. During practice for having the wrong sticker or paking on the road side.... and if you were hurt, try coming up that hill on crutches every day for treatment. It's a big deal and apparently still is... we didn't have scooters then either.

So is the 77 million a reserve for all of UGA or just the athletic dept? The article reads as if that's in all-in number for the entire university, but that seems kind of low, so maybe not.

That's just the athletic department. The UGA Foundation has a over $1 billion in assets, including the endowment.

Id be highly skeptical of assuming that. I'd have to look at what those 32 million in "investments" are but I'm confident that interest returns would be very very low for a fund like this. Certainly not enough that it matters.

Just be think of how proud you'll be, when your 30th in line for the shitter, of that 77 million and how we have that reserve instead of better facilities.

They've now got a second article about facilities. The areas where we really lag behind is in the weight room, locker room, and the players lounge. The player's lounge is a joke compared to some of the other players's facilities at other schools. The weight room I think is the second smallest in the SEC, despite the recent expansion and upgrade.

I agree about the bathrooms. Definitely need some renovations there.
Concessions are a joke but I don't know that throwing money at them makes them better. They are a joke because they are church group volunteers raising money, and not professional vendors that know how to serve a large crowd quickly and keep the line moving.
