Little whispers in the wind.

Short leash, ready to get yanked if he screws up.

Hero or Zero for Eason. He'll either win his job back by being an unequivocable badass, or be benched to never play again for UGA.

Controversy over at the half.

Gotta admit that would theoretically do it. It would leave little room for argument unless he "Fromms" it and plays good but not great and wins. Then you have the "well, we won with Eason too, so chemistry wasn't broken chatter."

If he does it means he must be light years better than Jake in practice. I don't buy it.

I don't want to give up on Eason yet, but this scares me a little.

We have a good thing going at the moment..

I'm all for it. Eason gets a chance to show if he was worthy of the throne vs a team we should beat handily. It should build his confidence and also we now have a legitimate backup in Fromm who will inherit the job eventually and can be used with trust at any time. It's a win win if we can keep both QBs happy. I love Easons arm and believe he can have a great year.

It's Tuesday. I don't see how they would make a decision already if they're basing it on how practices go.

Relax. As Vandy head coach Derek Mason said about the possibility of an Eason start, "Kirby is not fooling me."

Fromm has been the man at least since Notre Dame and probably before.

In tennis there is a famous maxim, "Never change a winning game. Always change a losing game."

Damn. You've finally said something that makes sense.

I hate that is exactly how it plays out. Win/Win.

While I don't think Eason should be the starter, I would hope we could ease him in like we did against UNC last year. I definitely want to see him get some extended playing time and see where he is. The competition should be encouraged but I hope if he plays Saturday, that will be the end of the controversy and we can focus on one guy going forward.

Why not start him vs Mizzou at home?

The truth of this whole matter is that we really have no idea how good or bad Eason is with the current team. The only way to find out is to give him significant playing time instead of Fromm...which is a big risk given we're 5 - 0.

I hope we're up by 30 at half and let Eason in the rest of the game so he get enough snaps to settle this whole thing ... at least for the time being.

That's what you do if you want him to win the job back.

I'm not sure that's what Kirby wants to do.

I get what your saying, but Kirby could give two fricks who actually back there. He'd start Stetson if he felt that gave us the best chance to win.

But...if he gets in and throws a bunch of inaccurate passes over the head of his receivers then it fixes the problem.

However, Mizzou is probably bad enough to make Eason look good.

Well, chances are he is going to do that. He has never been terribly accurate. I am more concerned about his checkdowns and decisions.

I'm really torn on this issue. Sure we're rolling pretty good but it's definitely not on Fromm's back, it's because our defense is elite, our run game is solid, and we've been getting just enough out of fromm that we've asked of it. Which honestly isn't that much. We essentially know he's not gonna derp it up and lose games for us but we also don't know if we can count on him to bring us back from a few scores down, or throw it 30 times in a game.

With Eason he's been through a full SEC season and has seen far better defenses than Fromm has at this point. I have full, 100% confidence in Fromm but if Eason gives our offense a chance to take it up a notch and make us even better why not give him a chance. It's not like he's done anything to be benched other than get injured.

WTF are y'all talking about?!

Kirby should not hand over the starting job to Eason at this point.

Fromm has proved more in 4 starts than Eason did all of last year.

Eason is not starting this weekend, nor should he. His time will be relegated to clean up duty after we are up by 30+ pts.
