We're going to find out a lot about Chaney Sat. If he doesn't come with a solid, varied, and flexible game plan, it could be a long day. This is not Nichols State that we're playing.

App St's a good football team, not a great one. But if we pucker like we did some last season, they'll play looser and looser and make it way too exciting.

But if we come out and score early and often, and play with poise and confidence, like a premier SEC team should, by the 3rd quarter our depth on D should show.

I don't like Chaney. You can't be that fat and ask your players to be disciplined. I think his best years are behind him but I'd like for him to prove me wrong. A fast-paced and varied offense will take the pressure off our young QB and O-line, and build some confidence in the process.

Sat will show us a lot about Chaney.

Chaney did alright against UNC and TCU (lots of time to prep the team). Keep in mind that it isn't Chaney out there executing the scheme. Kids have to learn it and make it their own. I'm optimistic about the offense this Saturday.

We'll learn a lot about our team in the first couple of games. If UGA struggles against App State, we should expect to be a mediocre team.

At least we'll know early.

Also, we'll know if Sam Pittman is worth the money.

This.

I mean, all we really know for sure right now is that he can recruit the frick out of some big O-linemen.

There has been a lot made of him not having "his guys" last season and thats why the OL was bad...but, shouldnt the BEST OL coach in the country be able to at least produce a decent line with the guys we already had? Or, at the very least, figure out that the guys we already had couldnt do what he wanted from them and changed schemes earlier in the season. Proactive changes vs reactive changes...that is what I expect from the best OL coach...hell, a top 10-15 coach. There are a lot of schools doing a lot more with a lot less. We see it every year.

I fully expect the OL to be better this year simply because he has more of "his guys", but I will have to see them perform like the 2002 OL before I believe in his ability to really coach up the OL.

Georgia should have no problems winning while staying very vanilla on offense. If that offensive line can't take care of business and make room for two elite running backs we'll be in trouble when have to play talented teams.

Bump. Probably not how you drew it up exactly but not that far off.
