Last week we got rid of Ohio State posters who insisted UGA was overrated. This week we rid ourselves of the Clemson posters. Life gets better all the time.

That's usually part of the equation of a big upset but were other factors:

1. This was a revenge game for Syracuse. Their QB got hammered and taunted in their previous encounter and the Orangemen simply wanted it more.

2. Clemson's starting QB, Kelly Bryant, already had a hobbling ankle injury going into the game which only got worse as the game progressed. Then he got face-planted and was literally knocked out by one of the Syracuse linemen and went back to the locker-room with a concussion.

3. The Clemson defense looked uninspired and overrated allowing critical first downs due to blown coverage even at the end of the game when they had to get the ball back.

4. There was also some officiating controversy. Clemson's defense was apparently calling out snap count cadence to cause the Syracuse OL to jump. One call was clearly Illegal Procedure (the Center jumped) but the officials called it Off-Sides apparently citing illegal signal calling by the Clemson front 7. Dabo was furious but there was one official on the sidelines apparently counseling Dabo regarding the call. There were a butt-load of penalties in this game. Clemson had 10-104 yards and Syracuse 13-115 yards.

Makes sense.

This is part of the game. Hence why it was so important to get Eason back, even if just to serve as a backup. Gotta have depth and if they don't have any at the QB spot, they effed anyway.

There's a coaching failure here. Not really any other way to spin it. How can you not have a sense of urgency when the game is on the line and the outcome may well determine if you get to defend your national title? If you need more motivation than that, you're not the champion people thought you were.

Sounds like Clemson was straight up cheating here. Can't say I blame the officials for doing their jobs. Syracuse had more penalties for more yards, so not much to complain about.

Bottom line, I don't think (and never did) that Dabo is that great of a coach. I think he's a good recruiter and the talent has saved him more often than not. Not having Watson this year pretty much ensured that Clemson would go right back to "Clemsoning" sooner rather than later. Now, when Lawrence gets there, who knows. The talent could make the coaching look a lot better once again.

Dabo is fools gold. I Hope he goes to Bama and his OC or DC, or both, don't join him. Dawgs reign of terror will will replace Bama's current reign. Will be glorious.

Tennessee, Iowa St. & Syracuse have done their parts in thinning out Tech, OU & Clemson posters. (I’m anticipating us to shoo off the remaining Nerds in November.)

My thinking as well. Alabama was whipping Clemson in that last NCG and Deshaun Watson literally willed his offense to win that game with an incredible individual effort. This is why I am very excited to see what Jake Fromm and Justin Fields will do at Georgia. Both appear to be very special quarterbacks who could lead us to the playoffs.

Clemson had no answer for those blitzes. Shame on Dabo for leaving his starting QB in there who couldn't run while he got pasted by those defensive guys. Dabo is a bad coach and even a worse person. I hope he goes to Bama cause he will ruin it...

Bryant should have never played. That was a bad look

I've never thought Dabo was a good coach, great recruiter though, if he is doing it legally. Deshaun Watson was extremely valuable. Clemson should have been able to beat Syracuse by throwing 0 passes last night. Venables defense gave up well over 400 yards to a Syracuse offense.

Yep, Kelly Bryant never should have started the game with that ankle injury. Cooper went 10-14 for 88 yards in limited relief. Had Cooper started the game, Clemson might have won the game.

I don't know if Syracuse just made them look that way, but Clemson looked flat-footed and uninspired. That would be on Dabo. But, on the other hand, Syracuse looked like the faster, more dominate team, especially on the offensive LOS. D-line was supposed to be one of Clemson's strengths and they got exposed. Hats off to Syracuse players and staff.
