If Mason were looking for help – and how couldn’t he be? – I would recommend he review the video of a 38-7 loss to Georgia Tech in mid-September. The Yellow Jackets amassed 511 yards, 289 rushing and 222 passing. They averaged 6.3 yards per rush and didn’t commit a turnover.

Don’t bother asking, “How many national championships has Georgia Tech won with its flexbone?” Vanderbilt could play 12 men on offense and not win a national title.

You can recruit to a triple-option offense without having to butt heads with Alabama and all the other elite programs in the SEC. Dual-threat quarterbacks who can run the option are easier to find than NFL-type passers. Moreover, you don’t need 320-pound offensive linemen who can move your average condo. You can get by with smaller, more mobile blockers. One more thing: Defending the option offense requires more discipline than your typical SEC offense. It annoys defenders. And that’s something a defense-minded coach like Mason should appreciate.

So you are saying that after PJ gets fired next week, Derek Mason should hire him for OC?

Didn't they just score 38 points? And you're bringing up their offensive deficiencies now?

"If you're going to suck no matter what, why not run the triple option!"
-war cry for schools like GT and Vandy

Don't you have our own board to go to? With as much as you are on here, one would think you are a GA fan...

Seems to me like you guys should have another National Title or two, then.
