Got my coffee. Hung out with my 1 week old boy for his feeding, stepped outside and smelled some smoking, jalapeño ribs......

My pro-Tech bias aside, I have to say Crissy's ribs sound the most intriguing. It's essentially a light, overnight brine with a kick. I can only imagine that they are quite tender. I rub mine down with yellow mustard and then coat in my rub - the vinegar in the mustard does a good job tenderizing, but I love the idea of the jalapeños.

I DEDICATE THE COOKING OF THESE RIBS TO THOSE AT WEST PARK C, TALLADEGA, ALABAMA

Time for a shot of whiskey.. Using the one-burner method and will not open the grill for 3 hours.. checking the temperature every 30 mins

He's got a yankee smoke box sittin on the grill grates.

Side: His yard is probably full of white oak trees yet he purchased hickory smoking chips from Wolly World.

Ha! Been thinking about taking a plate of ribs up to the Circle K later for people to taste test & video interview while pumping their gas, but thats taking it too far.. maybe one day when the DawgRant Rib-Off is a sanctioned event and the payout is $10k

I like how you lit up a cigar and smoked it real good and then snapped a photo...... to distract and derail the propane criticism conversation.....

Update:

RB - Being patient. Hanging back and biding his time. Waiting to drop bombs.
Christopher - Using same strategy that made him HGMF champ. Bold, aggressive, and unapologetic.
Deeprig9 - At Kroger buying some Match-light charcoal.
bwood - still in bed.
Litigator - still hungover and vomiting from Saturday night.

It's a beautiful mornin..................

ETA, if you really know CFC, tell him I can put him on some fish at Bear Creek, unlike the two guides he's been out there with.
