aahhhhh that'd be great, but what's teh point? It'd fall on deaf ears.

One time in college I got real trashed and did just that, and verbally lashed some birmingham news writer who wrote an article rife with inaccuracies. He actually wrote me back thanking me for the corrections. I believe I still have it saved in my email.

I mean, didn't we finish the season ranked exactly 9th last year, and Mizzou was 14th?

Mizzou lost its best offensive weapon and two best defensive players. We beat them by 34 last year. I just want to know if the people who write these articles actually watch football or if they just go off common ideas like "UGA is always overrated in the preseason."

At least he got this part right. I wonder if he also has a problem with Clemson being higher than GT?

Agreed it's a ridiculous analysis. Missouri didn't win the East, UGA gave it away with two games where we didn't play well (and I won't mention the horrible refereeing in each). We embarrassed them last year with a freshman running back who is now experienced.

Missouri is actually overranked just because it slid into the SEC East title for two years.

Blaming any loss we had last season on the referees is a joke and a cop out, especially Tech. We gave that game away and I really don't remember many (if any) calls we got screwed on.

The best case for blaming a poor call would be the USCjr game. But I also think that's the game we didn't give the ball to Gurley at all one series and wasted a first and goal from the 4 yard line no? The called back TD was pretty bad.

He is referring to the Florida game. He is convinced we lost because of the refs, and we have battled several times on that point. It's most prudent to just agree to disagree with him haha

Did the refs lose us the UF game? No. We lost because our defense played out of their assignments and got blown up and couldn't stop the run. We didn't lose BECAUSE of the refs.

However, there some blatantly atrocious calls that went against us, primarily in the holding department. Idk if it was SDS or someone else, but some blog put together a long article about it with gifs and some of them are just head scratchingly bad. Like, our guys getting dragged down from behind with no call.

Yep. I completely agree with you there. I was in Jacksonville and it was some of the most blatant holding I've ever seen that didn't get called. But our team just didn't show up and thought we could just coast to a victory. That's why I can't blame the refs.

'Bout right for us. 8 SECs in the top 25. UT corn lickers have us chalked up as an automatic W. I like starting the season in the bottom 5. No glaring back target with a chance to move up gradually with some quality wins, but hopefully no drastic drop with a loss or two. As someone said, no major injuries/suspensions and we could be real good. I think we're better than AU on paper but I hope they rank above us when we play 'em.

Refs never called the rampant blatant holding vs florida.

The calls I parenthetically mentioned (to avoid this conversation again), this were the phantom holding call against USCe and the blatant holding not called against UF. But I did not directly mention them, because we still should have won both games. Who mentioned Tech? My primary point is Missouri comes across better than they really are just because they won the East, when almost everyone knows they were not the best team in the East.

We should never be ranked lower than #10 in a preseason or post season poll. What 10 programs should be better than us every year. That being said we really are in bad need of of a couple of seasons without soiled bed linens against teams we should beat readily....until we stop losing games like we did against Tech last year we do not deserve any more from the media than we get....we simply are not a tough football team...we are very talented...as talented as they get...but we aren't mentally tough enough to do what it takes to win tough games every week....we show up to games flatter than the beer at a GOP fund raiser all too often and wait until the second half to realize the other team has already played 30 minutes....or we show up for the first half and then cost through the second...this means we are a top 10 team but not a top 3 team...it is what it is....

And Hubert Owens crew did both games...I absolutely knew it would be a struggle in Jax once I found which crew was officiating.

His group is by far the worst in the SEC.
