No need for any "let's not get too far ahead of ourselves and let's take it one step at a time" stuff. We're fans. Not players. Looking too far ahead is what fans do. Fans have no impact on the next game.

Georgia could mathematically clinch the East before Halloween. Georgia needs to beat Florida, South Carolina loses once and Kentucky twice. Wondering it that's ever happened. Doubt that it ever happened in the 90s. Florida and Tennessee were probably too tight. 2006 Florida went undefeated and we weren't really worth a damn and Tennessee wasn't much better. Interesting little bit of trivia.

If the officials call offensive holding, I feel pretty good about Florida. When he's outmanned, McElwain's strategy on offense is to have his OL hold on every play. If the officials swallow their flags, that strategy works pretty well.

I agree that we don't have an impact and our preparation and mental fortitude is meaningless.

But you can go frick yourself with a cactus for giving the sports gods this kind of bulletin board material.

A more likely scenario would be UK losing 2 of 3 to Miss. St, UT, and Ole Miss and then UGA beating UF and USC.

Clinch on Nov. 4.

Would be nice to have that breathing room. UGA's road to the CFP runs through Bama regardless. A road loss to a top-25 Auburn team wouldn't keep a 12-1 UGA out.

Would be terrible

I can't imagine how many fans would have fake smiles on their faces going "yay, we beat Bama...SEC Champs...yaaay..."

I'm not so worried about losing to GT, their talent, especially on defense is G5 level. I am worried about potentially winning the east and then losing a key DL or two to cheap arse blocks a week before the SECCG. Saw a Miami player get hurt when he got bent over backwards by an uncalled chop block. If that happens to us, I wish Kirby would go on a major rampage to end that series until GT fires Johnson.

Hoping that the rumors of PJ taking the Georgia southern AD/HC job as a semi retirement are true. There is no benefit to playing against that high school offense at the end of the year. His (lack of) recruiting will shipwreck them for 4-5 years minimum whenever they finally move on.

Interesting.. can’t remember another year where it was clinched that early, but haven’t gone back to check.

Definitely possible given that Kentucky will probably be underdog in next two games (maybe Pickem with Tenn?) while i’d assume SC will be favored over Vandy but maybe not by much.
