I wonder if was his idea or Kirby's. I for one am glad that his fat arse is off the sideline. Has he usually operated from upstairs at other schools? Maybe he can eat doughnuts up there and keep his blood sugar up.

Isn't that what he always did in the past, but Kirby said that he wanted all the coaches down on the sideline for better communication until they got used to each other?

I could be dreaming, but it seems like I remember something like that.

I think him being on the sideline had more to do with wanting to be able to talk to the freshman QB on the sideline face to face

I know the announcers said that yesterday...but for some reason I was thinking I had heard the other thing.

You are probably right, though.

8 games and 4 losses in, Kirby puts the Saban syllabus in the desk drawer and actually makes a head coaching decision all by his wittle self.

Congrats coach! About damn time...

With him upstairs, a lot more coaches and players could see the game I bet.

I heard he was up there hiding from Trump. Apparently he got a call from the Don earlier in the day saying he wanted to recruit him to be 1/3 of the wall planned for the southern border.

They move him up to the box and he slowed the earth's rotation so much that we lost an hour of time.

Bet the players are pissed that there's so much less shade on the sideline now.

This is a case of Coach Cheney wanting to help his Fresh QB along by being there face to face and helping him see his way through different looks and situations. His plan was always to move back upstairs (as he has done in the past) when he felt his QB was comfortable. Kirby probably felt it was time to push the issue and give it a shot now.

BTW I don't know if you guys noticed but he was on the sideline after the half. I saw him celebrating. That said I'm not sure if it was for the remainder of the game.

I know what they look like and there is a huge difference between the two. It was Cheney.

I was going to say the same thing. Chaney wasn't in the booth the second half.

Winning is better than losing....but did it really work? New Mexico State scored 42 points against UK's defense....we won by 3 with time running out....I don't think our offensive woes are fixed just yet....
