I think Beamer needed to go yesterday. The special teams has been atrocious. This marks the second time in the last few years we have hired a prominent coaches son only to have them be a disappointment. Surely, Kirby could find an intelligent, personable guy who make our special teams unit elite given our talent.

As for Chaney, I don't think he'll be gone this year, but last week's game was squarely on the offensive unit. Sure, the special teams sucked and gave up some big time plays, but the offensive needs to put up more than 16, especially when we were moving it as well as were last Saturday.

Given auburn's beat down of Arkansas and Chanel's piss poor performance thus far, I was thinking Kirby might make another run at enos if Chaney doesn't lock it down.

I hope that's one of the things that he took from Saban. Get rid of bad coaches quickly.

I've always found it telling that Kirby wanted Enos but settled for Chaney. Think Chaney was a package deal to get Pittman. Hoping Chaney just retires to the lake and opens it up for us to get someone more innovative. Depressing watching our offense while Lashlee is hanging 50+ on Arkansas and Kiffin is just mowing teams down.

Hiring package deals means probably firing / retiring / quitting by package deals.

Another boneheaded move by Kirby imo

To be fair, it's her first coaching gig, and she's not really known for football related stuff.

Chances of firing Chaney are probably zero. He needs more than one season just like Smart.

Chaney, like Schottenheimer, should get walking papers. I'm too old to buy into someone pissing on my boot and telling me it's raining. Shat ain't going to work.

Still don't understand the hate for Chaney. The play calling is not the problem. We had over 400 yards, and way outgained Vandy. The problem is we can't capitalize, and we kicked 3 FG's.

Not sure about Beamer; he didn't exactly inherit a stellar cast of characters in terms of the kicking game. Chaney on the other hand should be replaced; sorry, I just don't want a fatass as a coach. It simply sends the wrong message to the team. I mean how can you rationalize leading a team of athletes when you are a fat frick? I would prefer someone like Kiffin who will recruit the best athletes available and adapts the offense to make best use of their strengths. And yes, that absolutely includes recruiting the most athletic QB we can attract to our program.

Scoring isn't part of offense? Just moving it between end zones?

lately?

Dick LeBeau is 79. How is he supposed to lead a bunch of athletes when he's old as frick? Nick Saban is 5'6" tall. How can he leaf young athletes when he's too short to defend a pass?

There's a difference between physical limitations due to age, genetics, etc. and someone who is too lazy/undisciplined to stay in respectable shape.

This is pretty much an apples/oranges comparison. Physical fitness is not really a requisite for Math skills so the physical fitness of the teacher is much less relevant compared to the ability teach Math skills. But preferably any teacher should be a good role model for kids and someone who is extremely over weight is not an ideal role model. For instance/hypothetically, if your excess weight was not due to some condition beyond your control, what would you say if a young kid asked you why you were so fat? And yes, children should be taught to not ask such rude questions but it might well be a legit question for a young child who is simply trying to figure out the world.
