Without a defense....back in the day when we had a back like Gurley (or even close) we had a defense that could get the other team off the field. You can't be a power running team if you can't keep the other teams defense on the field....

I agree, Gurley can't win us every game without good qb play. There is nothing hard to understand about that. 1 denominational teams do not run the table too often. Plus our O line doesn't look great. There were many plays were Gurley was stuff but did it all himself.

We need a qb to challenge the defense deep, but with Mason that isnt going to work. The only 2 deep balls vs Clemson, both were under thrown. I think he threw 1 deep ball vs Clemson and it looked under thrown too.

Agree german, the 80 team had Walker but they also had one helluva defense. You need both elements to be a championship caliber team.
