Which position, perceived to be a weakness, do you believe will develop and be a strength for the coming season?

For some reason, I think our receivers will be the breakout position, but could easily see the OL coming on strong. I was just wondering what everybody else thought.

Defensive line. They'll grow as the season goes on and be a strength led by future top 10 NFL draft pick Trent Thompson. At least that's the hope

I can see that happening. We have a young, talented team with a lot of question marks. However, if 2-3 of those question marks develop and become strengths, we could have a very good year. I expect Smart to light a fire under the team, so I actually think we could outperform the amount of talent we have. Once we add to that talent we could start contending again.

At least, that is my hope!

I think our receivers play great. Terry will be a first team all-SEC, iMac will have some big plays, Reggie Davis will be a relatively good deep threat, and hopefully Wims qualifies so we have a big body on the outside to go with our three headed monster at TE.

TE

Not that they are under rated or perceived as a weakness, but I see the position being a much bigger part of the offense than it was last year or the year before.

Let's hope so anyway, right?

Too much versatility and talent at that position NOT to be used more effectively.

It's the most stacked position on the offense by a mile.. but it was that way last year too and we saw what kind of fruit that bore last year. Let's hope the new boss figures out how to utilize his talent on hand

I think the easy guess is OL and WR. Both should see a bump from better coaching and training. I can't say TE because that is not perceived as a weakness, but it should be a much larger factor this year. But overall, I say the Secondary because of better coaching and schemes that will give them better support, more pressure on QB, etc.

I understand Woerner is a big guy, but I would still like to see him get some reps split out wide.

Linebackers might be better this year.

Pass rush last year was sub-par, and I think Bellamy, Walker, and Carter should at least match that production.

I also think we will see a huge improvement at inside linebacker regarding athleticism. Patrick, Roquan Smith, Kimbrough, and Carter are all pretty good and all have their strengths. They are all healthy and more polished this year.

Part of the struggles at TE last year were because Schottenheimer sucked, but that wasn't the only reason. shite QB play factored into that as did shite OL play leaving the TEs in to block because the OL couldn't do their jobs.

I think D'Andre Walker has a breakout year (8+ sacks). One knock on Pruitt's D was that it wasn't very pass rusher friendly. He never really put the OLB's in situations that Grantham did. I think Kirby's scheme will benefit our pass rushers much better

Bama wasn't exactly known for pass rush until it erupted last season. Their defenses always started with smothering the run game and built from there

If Catalina can come in and be as good as advertised, I think our O Line has a chance to be much better than expected

Is Wims having trouble qualifying? First I've heard of this, I fully expected him to be in the WR rotation this season. I agree about the D-line being our break out unit this yr. A little worried going against Hood of UNC without Ledbetter, Rivers and possibly Rochester and Barnett with his knee. Hopefully Carter, Clark and Marshall are good to go once they arrive.

It's gonna take some creativity to maximize McKenzie's full potential on offense, but he can be a dangerous weapon. Hopefully Chaney has already figured out not to use him like a normal WR

They've proved nothing yet you "trust them"?

I could see maybe thinking Stanley might be a promising
contributor but Chigbu was 3 star coming out and has done little to make me think he was some type of undervalued sleeper.
