Senior laden offense of GSU averaging most yards per game in FBS. If it weren't for the muffed punt, the defense held them to one of their lowest yard totals and only 10 points.

I know it's GSU, but the talent on def. really showed IMO.

Our offense is another story and should be burned to the ground mentioned in another thread.

I know that there has to be a silver lining somewhere and the defense has looked good but Georgia Southern is a rent-a-win for UGA. When this game was scheduled no one in Statesboro was looking for anything other than a paycheck and some in state exposure for recruits not quite good enough to play in the SEC. We tied them....in a regulation game we are as good as Ga Southern.

I also think that our offense looks so horrible that the defense looks like an NFL defense in comparison. At least they aren't completely incapable of doing what they do. And finally our defense has not faced a decent offense all season.....I know that GUS is a FBS program now and all of that shite but they play in a much less competitive conference and against a very low level of competition...they got smoked by West Virginia and played us to a tie......

It can't be stressed enough that this is a combination of things.

No qb whatsoever. We had a tryout before the season to see who the least horrible was.

Lost a top 3 in the country running back

Our 2013 class has 2 starters from it. TWO. That can fall on the coaches recruiting evaluations or against our strict bulllshit rules for kicking off so much talent. The juniors are supposed to be the meat of your team and talent before leaving for draft if applicable.

And finally Richt. Once again, like a dipshit probably, I'm giving him somewhat of a pass here. I know it's been said a billion times, but hands are kinda tied here. We expected a 9-3 season at the start, but we didn't expect the qb dumpster fire. He fixed grantham, and he's giving his best to fix the qb situation. We have a hell of a class coming in.

We better come out with some kind of fire vs GT.

If anything, our offense being as awful as they are means the defense is even better than the stats/scores show. They are put in horrible situations over and over and are left on the field while the offense goes 3 and out repeatedly and, for the most part, they still hold up their end of the deal.

Not making excuses for the shitshow that was yesterday (and most of the season for that matter) but I'm pretty sure GSU's starting QB was suspended for the WVU game.

Was supposed to be a rent-a-win. GSU obviously didn't get the memo.

You are right...GSU was a rent-a-tie instead of a rent-a-win. Before CFB decided to do away with ties and play 60% of the game until someone wins we would now have a tie against Ga Southern as part of our programs history....while not as bad as Florida having a loss to them or Michigan having a loss to App State it is still pretty dam low....

Why do you keep saying that it would have been considered a tie years ago? What does that have to do with anything at all?

Role reversal. For years under Bobo our offense has been our strength and the defense the weak link. Richt struggles to develop a complete team. Hopefully Eason can make a difference next season. And dammit, we need to recruit some tall and athletic WR's.

Because a win in OT isn't exactly the same as a win in regulation. It counts the same but it shouldn't...it should go in the "tie" column OR in a 4th and 5th column as a an OT win or an OT loss.

The reason I say this is because years from now when we are waxing nostalgic for the Richt years those memories are going to be drastically different with an OT win against GUS than they would have been with a 60 minute tie. Many of our brethren will forget by August of next year that for 60 minutes in November of 2015 UGA was at a lower level than Georgia State in regards to football....if the game had been in Statesboro I doubt that anyone would argue now that we don't lose to GSU in regulation. IN few years most of the Dawg nation will only remember that we won.....they won't care that this is the first time in 89 years that we have failed to beat an in state school other than GT in regulation. The depths that the program has sunk to will be far less deep in years to come because of the OT win. The OT win is the best of the other two scenarions where we don't win in regulations but only by a small amount....

The fact is that for 60 minutes of the entire game...including clock management, a 100 yard field and much more important special teams play GSU was as good on the field in Sanford Stadium as the Dawgs were. That should never be forgotten, especially when weighing the success and failings of the Richt era....

We can say what we will BUT neither Vince Dooley nor Wallace Butts Team's played an instate school other than Tech to a 60 minute tie...nor did Ray Goff or Jim Donnan's...Mark Richt's did....

It's a fricking win dude. There are no two ways about it. Your insistence on negativity knows no bounds.
