I couldnt find the older topic, so I'm starting this one.
One of you recommended bifenthrin. Said mix it hot.
Step one..... I realized I had some "Fire Ant Granules" with bifen as the active ingredient, so I carpet bombed the place with those granules, but I'm pretty sure they were about 4 years old, not sure of the half life on that. Didn't seem to do anything about about 3 weeks.
So I did the do-your-own-pest-control thing as recommended by one of you South Georgia Rednecks, mixed it hot, and sprayed all the shady and mulched areas where the skeeters like to hang out.
Time will tell.

I bought a thermacell version of the therma cell lantern that Dallas recommended in the last thread.
It's legit. No mosquitoes or flies. And no rubbing poison on your skin.
But.....the butane and felt pad things don't last for shite. I burned through the ones that came with it in about a week and a half..

Fire ant granules aren't going to do much with mosquitoes. Bifenthrin is a sound, wide spectrum insectide. Permethrin is too. Go get a concentrated liquid spray that you mix with water and you can control them for a bit, but do not expect any type of long lasting control despite label claims.

Did all of the above this evening. The label says it takes a while to notice a difference and repeated spraying is necessary for my particular application.
