just used some credit card points for 2 round trip tickets to jax the last weekend of October. I'm looking for somewhere close to the landing sub $250/night. tia

Really nothing to do Downtown other than the Landing and it's pretty lame other than Friday night. For that kinda money I'd look at Fernandina Beach and the other places on Amelia Island, Jax. Beach, Ponte Vedra, Sawgrass or on down to St. Augustine... JMO

If you're wanting a hotel you're probably better off looking around the airport.
If you want to be closer to actual downtown then check for houses in Riverside/Avondale/San Marco.

Jekyll or St Simons is what I would do...or you could book on HWY 40 Exit 3 in Kingsland/St. Marys and be almost dead center between Brunswick and the Golden Isles and All the Jax stuff...about 50 hotels to choose from on that exit alone. It's about 40 minutes from the Everbank...if that. Camden County. 2 decent courses to play in the area...St Marys waterfront is pretty....Cumberland Island, etc.

also about 15-20 minutes from the airport. North. prices on your stay if you book now will be a good bit cheaper than around the airport or out on the islands.
