After this week it is obvious that is all we have to look forward to this season. That and maybe beating the Gameshmucks in Columbia for the first time since 2008.

Georgia can win those games, if they play better than they did yesterday.

But Tennessee and Florida both looked physically much stronger than Georgia. Those are 2 sure losses, even if Georgia plays a good game. Georgia will have to fight to lose by respectable scores. They aren't going to win those games with no pass rush and an inconsistent offense.

I think the problem is youth. Georgia has no senior leadership and is forced to play too many underclassmen.

Kirby Smart deserves just as much of the blame as Richt. The time he spent coaching Alabama in the national championship game last season could have been spent evaluating the team.

He would have known that Georgia needed position upgrades immediately, and he should have gone the junior college transfer route. He should have recruited a pass rusher, a tall receiver, and a kicker from the junior college ranks.

Georgia would have been a notch better this year, if he would have properly evaluated the team shortly after he was hired.

His hire was a step down from just keeping Richt. I doubt Smart lasts more than 5 years.

Rich did a horrible job recruiting. He completely mismanaged the roster and people expect Kirby to pick up the broken pieces.

Look at the 2013 class, which should be the senior leadership right now (top 5 players):
1. Tray Matthews - GONE
2. Brice Ramsey - HORRIBLE
3. Tramel Terry - GONE
4. Shaq Wiggins - GONE
5. Tim Kimbrough - GONE

The class gets worse if you care to look at the rest of the class. When you’re trotting out freshman and sophomore at critical positions, you have to expect some major speed bumps. Richt left this team in a major turmoil, give Kirby some time.

3 of the players you list are defensive backs.

I think our DBs are just as good, if not better than the guys who left.

Tim Kimbrough was fighting for 2nd string.

QB play is not the main reason why Georgia's offense is inconsistent. Small receivers and bad OL play are bigger factors. Kirby could have fixed 1 of those problems by getting a tall WR from a junior college.

Yep, just go get those JUCOs, it's as easy as that. Like picking apples. And losing one game to a program that's going on probation for paying players is the end for Kirby. Let's just fire him now and promote Cheney to HC. SMH.

The three weeks Kirby spent fulfilling his contract to UA has absolutely no bearing on how this team has performed. You act like that time would have caused some Christmas miracle to have occurred where Santa Claus would have delivered some O linemen, WRs,DB's and a fricking kicker to replenish to bare cupboard.

The new era of college football is "drafting" transfers. Samson is exactly right. Take a look at Texas A&M's roster

Cobb Dawg, I used to despise you. But over the last six months or so, I've found myself upvoting alot of your posts.

Did you change? Or did I change?

Is this how Tech has built such a powerhouse?

The Dawgs are building an indoor practice facility and Georgia Tech is expanding Technology Square

Weren't we talking about football and JUCO transfers and such?

BTW, my niece was rejected by UGA but accepted by Tech. She decided to go to a local school and reapply to UGA next year.

I watched some of the Clemson game. Almost looked like a home game for the Tigers. Lots of empty seats in that little stadium.

There is no question about that....but even with the talent we got we beat Nichols by 4 TD's if the coaching staff stayed at home and the players just went out and sand-lotted the game....If anyone thinks that the talent we do have is only 2 points in 60 minutes at home better than Nichols they have lost their damned minds....Ole Miss is one of the best teams in the nation...they are playing at a level we may have never played at...even when we have been very good....but almost losing to Nichols State in this staff's second game? That shite is unfathomable.....there is absolutely no way in hell that Nichols State has talent that allows them to stay within 2 points of us in Athens....that is the result of poor game planning, poor preparation and poor motivation....in the second game of this staffs tenure at UGA. There should have been more improvement from game one to two in the staffs first season than there will ever be again....if you hired an employee and they shite the bed like that the second week on the job don't tell me you would be happy to see where it goes....youd be concerned and rightfully so.....

Better get ready to watch some old games. The team we saw yesterday won't beat either one.

By the way The University of The Incarnate Word scored more against Nichols in Mobile than we did in Athens....yes, we have some severe talent problems but surely we have comparable talent to the University of The Incarnate Word????

Apparently they have a better offensive line that us....they gained about 225 yards rushing against the same defense that held us to about 100.....again we win that game by 4 TDs if the coaches stay at home and the players just go out and sand lot the game....

CKS needs to go back to the drawing board on the SC as we are getting pushed around like nobody's business. We are lacking those guys with nasty attitudes!
