Sorry for that lame rhyme...

They beat the powerhouse Georgia Southwestern 65-61. Our future Freshman All-American Maten had a double-double, and lead the team in points, rebounds and assists. (12,10,4).

We're turning into a basketball school, so haterz, you may as well jump on the bandwagon.

hope Kenny Gaines recovers from his mysterious illness quickly. We are limited offensively without him. Really important we get off to a quick start unlike the last few years. Excited for the year to officially tip off!

No doubt. Kenny will be key for us this year. Hope he can get that stroke he had from last year back.

Does any player in the country have a prettier stroke from 3 than Kenny?

from what i could gather through some tweets and responses, it looked like we "lost" a close one. the game being close was explicitly stated and i had to use some context to infer that we lost.

i would direct you to the tweet but i cant remember where i read it

As a UGA fan it sucks that the game was close. But as someone who goes to GSW I'm pumped to see us dominate the Peach Belt

Yea it is. I know Armstrong in Savannah is in it. As is the newly minted Georgia Regents University in Augusta (what a shitty name, I'll never get over it)

Yea I always call them Augusta State and MCG. While GRU sucks, some of the alternatives they considered were even worse somehow. One was Arsenal University what the hell is that? A soccer school or some shite?

Nope. GRU is the combination of ASU and MCG. They still have the 2 campuses (they came up with some gay name for each, didn't really pay attention) but I'm pretty sure the plan is to gradually mix those as well.

Prior to that, the med school was GHSU (Georgia Health Sciences University) for about 2 years . So there's some people that have diplomas for that. And even then it was GHSU at MCG. But there were so many pissed people that they gave 'commemorative' MCG diplomas to any class that was accepted under the MCG name.

Yep. And it sucks because ASU had actually built up a good brand in golf and basketball from what I understand (not really sure, I didn't follow them because it was still separate from MCG then), then changed names and mascots and all that. It was a cluster.
