Anyone familiar with Daniel Shirley?

This dude is a guest on a local sports talk show here ( Clemson station and I know he's a grad), but he just stated UGA lacked playmakers on both sides of the ball??? Do any of you like his reporting down in Macon?

Never heard of him but from that comment I would think he knows little about Georgia football, or maybe college football in general.

He was a neighbor in Athens but I didn't really interact much with him other than talking coming back from DT a couple of times. He was a photographer and a good one. I had no clue he started "reporting," so I can't really speak to that.
He's also another example for why fencing shouldn't be considered a sport. Every fat person I ever knew was a fencer in high school and they were all "ranked" or some bs. If you can be that fat and be good at something, I am skeptical.

Shirley had been getting his feet wet at the Macon joke of a newspaper for a while before Seth left. Now he is all that paper has for experience. Which is a comment on how pitiful the Macon Telegraph really is.
On the other hand they have a new one named Jason Butt who is doing some decent articles on UGA football. If he gets good he will leave for a bigger paper. Otherwise he will be stuck locally like Shirley is.
