I agree. We know he is the likely to be our most talented QB for the next 3 years. Why not throw him in the fire early on to get him some experience? I'm not expecting him to be great his first year (see Matthew Stafford 2006) but I think the more exposure he gets early on, is ultimately better for us in the long run.

It’s almost impossible to imagine UGA overtaking Florida in the SEC East with any of the quarterbacks from this year’s team as next season’s starter. So then why delay the inevitable?

Disagree. I don't think thats impossible at all. UT is the best team in the east going into next year though.

if Eason’s talents and abilities have somehow been exaggerated, it’s probably best to find that out as quickly as possible too.

What a stupid point.

Perhaps the least qualified individual I've ever heard or read who writes about CFB and the Dawgs.

This article proves it.What a complete imbecile.

Take the Stafford approach. Start (insert lame QB here) for a few games then start bringing him in and eventually being the starter

I guess I don't pay enough attention. Why was the Dantzler article locked?

The admins made a thread (which is currently on page 1) talking about thread titles. I'd assume the dantzler one got locked because of the non descriptive thread title.

Didn't read, but can't argue with the premise. Unless he falls flat on his face due to mishandling, which I don't see happening, what's the downside, more of '15. A 6' 5" kid with a cannon, rated #1 in the country, should be able to hold his own vs the rest of the "talent" we've amassed at QB.

Bringing in a stacked set of receivers over the next few seasons will go miles to make Eason look as good as possible.

We need to give him reps in the first two games and then name him the starter soon after depending on how he performs. The only caveat is making sure we can protect him.

Because the title was "Jeff Dantzler?". So, based on the title, what are we to assume the thread is about other than Jeff Dantzler? As already stated, there is a thread discussing non-descriptive thread titles and other things that will result in a lock or deletion of a thread.

I haven't read the article but the biggest issue, like with any freshman is that the playbook would likely be extremely limited early in the year. I hope he gets lots of reps in practice all year long and that we limit his game reps and progress his playing time as he masters the playbook.

The hardest thing for a most QB's is making protection reads so that will definitely be a limiting factor. I'd say by week 8,9, or 10 our playbook should be much more open but not nearly what it will be his sophomore and junior years.

Didn't read the article either but we need to make sure we have a line that will keep him upright before we throw him into the fire. Last thing we need is to get him gunshy right out of the box.

Fully agree, but ask yourself is a TF eason with a limited playbook THAT much worse than lambert/ramsey?

I'd rather have a smaller playbook with a guy that can make every throw imaginable than a full playbook with a QB that is limited in where he can put the ball.
