Eason was more clueless than Fromm. Eason bailed out of a perfect pocket, continued to overthrow receivers. I'd trust Fromm over Eason for ND even if Eason was healthy

So you saw Eason only played 2.5 drives, and made 3 throws for a 2nd time, and didn't think that was a small sample size?

I understand being caught up in the moment, but watching it again should help you understand what a limited opportunity Eason had.

I'd be curious to see the stats on how slowly Eason came out of the gate on other games last year, particularly when he kicked in late game heroics a la Mizzou and Tennessee.

Came out fine against Mizzou. Struggled early against Tennessee, but picked it up by the end of the 1st quarter.

Eason has a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head.

Fromm starts from here on out, barring injury. IMO.

Two series or not ... why should we make excuses for him overthrowing wide open receivers just like he did last year?

I agree it wasn't going well with him in there. This weekend, it's Fromm's opportunity to take the job. I think it's highly unlikely he plays so well that the job is his but hopefully he can play well until Eason comes back.

Let's not forget that this game is almost inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. We want to get back to Atlanta and focus on our SEC schedule.

No it was 2 series. You cannot say that based on 3 passes that nothing has changed from last year. Especially when his own coach talked about how much he grew and improved in the off season.

This is where we disagree. By all accounts Fromm is the kind of guy who understands the opportunity in front of him and responds. He made it clear he didn't come to UGA to hold a clipboard. I don't think Eason makes another start at UGA barring injuries.

Part of the reason it was "only 3 passes" is because he couldn't throw a short timing pass or check down. Just like last year.

The reason it was only three passes is because he got hurt on a late hit out of bounds. Not because he started 1/3. The coaches weren't going to take him out due to 2 missed passes.

2 passes is your sample size, then, because he completed one. Clearly logic and statistics aren't your forte.

3 passes or 2? As far as logic- the first 3 series looked exactly like an entire season worth of series last year. The logical conclusion is not much has changed. The illogical conclusion is that he was going to break trend and do something we've never seen him do sometime later in the game.

2 missed passes. I edited it because it didn't make sense.

Point is 3 passes isn't enough to say anything changed or hasn't changed. Anyone with a brain knows that. It certainly wasn't his fault the running game couldn't get going. And logic will tell you that if he completed 55% in 370 attempts that he wasn't going to continue at a 1/3 pace.

His first pass was a short pass that was right on the money. It's not like he couldn't throw it short. One of his other two missed passes he had pressure coming behind/beside him that was closing in. Early in the game I can see why he missed it.

Those who are judging Eason based on two of three passes he threw are rushing to conclusions without adequate data to support those conclusions. Fact is no one knows what would have happened had Eason not gotten injured, but a slow start in the first game of the season is not a good indicator of the overall improvement from the previous season.

Eason is a mother fricking disaster and people who can't see that are morons. Eason doesn't even know how to get tackled because he never was in high school.

Do you know what a maladroit is?

It's the same guy that got trotted out there last season. Throwing off his back foot and not seeing the field. He has a strong arm. He didn't throw into trouble a lot last year. Other than that there's not much to be excited about.
