If you average the last 15 years of recruiting, UGA prolly ranked #1 overall... prolly be outside of the top 5 after the past few years but will remain solidly in the top 10 under Richt.

My question: If ya wait too long to get rid of CMR do ya have to start over & build from the ground up or will ya just keep the ball rolling?

Really? According to who, you? The author? The only reason it's "honost" is because it agrees with your narritive.

We'd likely have to gamble on a new guy that would take a step back for at least 2-3 years before any real improvement could be assessed. Not a wise move at this juncture.

People have run those stats, and no we don't. USC, Texas, and probably Bama by now are ahead of us.

Basically, this articles premise stems from his statistic that UGA is 4-13 against SEC teams that finish above .500 over the last six years.

That stat looks bad, and it is, but it's not as bad as it seems. All four of the wins have occurred in 2012 and 2013, so it's not a current problem. Basically, the writer is arguing that Richt should get fired now based on what happen three years ago, not the current state of the program.

The stat is even more stupid because a team is much less likely to finish with a winning conference record if UGA beats them since they will only be able to lose 2 more conference games. The stat naturally skews itself.

Basically, to break it down:

2008: lost two conference games to the two division winners, didn't play another team with a winning conference record.
2009: sucked
2010: sucked even more
2011: improved greatly, but lost the only opportunity against a winning SEC team.
2012: Beat UF, Vandy. Had a really good team overall.
2013: Beat USCe, LSU before injuries destroyed the season.

In summary of the writer's argument, our 2009 and 2010 teams sucked, so we should fire the coach in 2014.

Won't have to start all over, the talent will be there. Could be a hiccup due to the learning curve of a new system...

I'd ask you the same about PJ & NATS but it's obvious that, that ish on N. Ave. would have to be blown up, gutted & re-built piece by piece. It's gonna take 3-4 years for y'all to rebound when you get up the nerve to can his arse... Good Luck...

At one time over a ten year span under Mark Richt UGA ranked #1 in recruiting. My premise is the Dawgs are slipping.

That was Rivals, and they had us #2 to USC.

UGA hasn't really fallen off their pace, but Bama and Texas (for a time) picked it up.

Exactly... We're behind Bama, LSU & UF in recruiting in the SEC under Richt & those schools plus the thieving cheaters from Opelika are the only ones ahead of us during the same time period...
