A brief rundown of new posters

That's 5 new posters given access in the last 6 days...only 1 of which anybody has every heard of (from the scout board apparently). Several others made their 1st post on the help board requesting access and now have it. Another has about the most generic name possible.
O/U on the odds that one of these is an alter? 90%? 95%? I know it puts the admins in a tough spot, but SURELY there is something that can be done rather than literally have no practice in place at all to quell the flood of posters requesting and getting access. Right now, all anyone has to do is create an email account, ask for access, and be given it in the same day. Then we wonder why we have such an alter problem. Is there not some sort of grace period we can agree on as a board to let people get their posting legs under them first? Am I just too grumpy? I know I'm not the only one who thinks this is just a TAD bit shady.

Seriously though. I don't understand why people get so worked up over something so trivial. I mean, you're upset enough that you went through the trouble of finding the dates of these new posters first posts. That's weird to me.

No one would have heard of me if I had wanted to join and had to beg on the Help board to do so.
So it might be tough to winnow out the alters from the real Dawgs.
Worth keeping an eye on these folks though.

I would never have even thought to do that under any normal circumstances. What's weird to me is 5 people all making their 1st post requesting access in less than a week.

I wouldn't care if they were all alters.
They will out themselves eventually, and if they don't, then who cares? If they aren't trolling hard and not doing anything else to get themselves banned, I really don't have a problem with it.
As long as people get the boot for doing what they shouldn't be doing, it will work itself out, I think.

We allow most people access to our board, but if they get out of line on tRant or tFlagship board, then its perma ban.

I'm no imposter buddy!!! UGa is an outstanding university and Hershel Walker was one of my childhood heroes. I have spent many a glorious day in Athens/Clark County and it's one of the nicest college towns in northeast Georgia.

thx...yup gotta mess with it a little. got my logo right but it needs something. thought about a whitewash state with blue/orange piping around the edge. the white background w/that logo would look kinda like the helmet does from the side...imma play with it. You talking about a solid white AU with a blue/orange background??

its football season so it is logical that football fans would want to join a GA football board at this time. Oh wait. . . . It's the off season so people have a lot of time on their hands.

I don't know how you would filter members of this board who say they are dawg fans and want access to the Georgia Sports Board. I would tend to be more inclusive and then weed out the bad apples as they become apparent. I don't know what this sites policy is on alters. Personally I don't care but most could be filtered by IP address if the admins here chose to do so; one account per IP address but then you could easily have a single household who legitimately want separate accounts.

I tried to sign up previously a few months back but my email was "too common" or whatnot. They eventually just let me start posting after awhile
