If we can finish out the year on a winning streak, this team will have a lot of momentum going into 2017.

Could've/should've beaten Tennessee & Vandy, too. We theoretically could've stumbled and bumbled into a nine or ten win regular season, albeit ugly.

Tennessee and Vandy games are what put our season into a tailspin. Win those games like we should and we're 8-2 and in the hunt for the SEC East, despite how inconsistent we've been.

Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, LSU, A&M have a shot at losing 4 games this year. Dam near everybody except Bama can have 4 losses or more.

I called 8-4....albet I would have swapped vandy and au in wins and loses...but ya 8-4 is a good first year..get bowl eligible...upset a hug rival in front of tons of recruits..and out defense is getting very good. If we had an a oline worth a damn we'd be headed to Atlanta

It could also be argued that we should have beaten Ole Miss. It was just a bad match up and way too early in the season.

From 11/5/2015 predictions

I think dhuck20 nailed it a year ago:

quote:

1st - 6 or 7 wins. New system or whatever. I will still be a little disappointed, but obviously he would get a pass. We show flashes of being good. Beat at least 1 of Tech, UF, AU.
2nd - 8-9 wins. We compete for the East, maybe not win it-Come in 2nd or 3rd. Don't get blown out unless we are just clearly overmatched. Make great strives fundamentally and are in every game. Maybe get an upset.
3rd. 10 wins. 10 wins, absolutely no less IMO. We should win the east or come in a close 2nd. Competitive in each big game we have. Beat 2/3 of UF, Tech, and AU.

Bumped to prove a point.

6 or 7 wins and one of Tech, UF, AU? How much more nailed would it need to be?

Now let's just hope he was right about years 2 and 3.

How is our defense "getting good"? We finished 40th in scoring and 127th in red zone defense and got torched by any offense with a pulse or even w/out a pulse (see Ole Miss)

I guess you could give them props for the AU game even if they did have their best RB out and a barely serviceable QB.We also played some of the worst offenses in P5.

Come on now. The quote is "flashes of being good". You'll allow a flash or two, won't you?

why should we hope for 8-9 wins next year?

we should be expecting nothing less than 10 wins with our schedule, the defense returning, and a returning starting QB. The first time for that in 4 years.

If Kirby doesnt get to 10 next year, this whole plan has backfired on us.

I think 8-9 is realistic. I don't think we write Kirbs off if he doesn't win 10 in year two. 8 or 9 would show progress especially with the disclaimers dhuck listed.

8 wins would be progress to you? wtf

9 wins would be progress, but it shouldn't be, because he should have won 10 games this year.

he needs to win the East next year to make me, and I'm sure many others, feel confident in his abilities.

UTk will be a mess, USCe is at home, Vandy and Tech should be revenge wins, UK is our bitch, ND is a mess, AU who knows, and UF has been beatable for 7 years.

No excuse to lose more than 2, and even that is being generous, IF he is who we thought he would be.
