A stall with a qb like him is basically the same thing as turning him down.

I've been skeptical of Fields to UGA since he de-committed, but having Rusty, Kipp, Jake Rowe and Trent Smallwood predicting him to the good guys has me really getting my hopes up.

Georgia sports in general has ruined me from getting my hopes up. Got my hopes up last year for UGA football, Uga BBall, Falcons, and The Braves and was let down by everyone of those teams. Until they starting proving me something I will be optimistic about Georgia sports overall

I thought that the Falcons would suck last year but they gave us a great run before they choked.

Don't leave out the possibility of Wynn

Wynn, Fields, Zeus in one week would be as good a week as I can ever remember us having.

If we landed White, Fields, and Wynn we would bump up to 24th with all other teams staying where they are currently.

From what I've read, Fields is very good friends with a heavy Dawg-lean in Kearis Jackson. He would get us to 13th. There are more that are leaning our way as well so I think we can get inside the top 10 if those first 3 pieces fall. Fingers crossed.

Good on you to get a relative date and ranking to look back on.

That's why I'm not buying that rumor, if Corral wants to commit then you can stall him but it wouldn't be a smart move to straight up turn him down even if you're 99.9% sure Fields is yours. But I trust this staff to handle recruiting until they give us a reason not to trust them.

Think you are right, but the link to the USCw board indicated there was some character issues. I mean, that might be speculation or it might be real, who knows. If Kirby felt like there was some character issues, though, he might turn Corral down even without an assurance of getting Fields.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Anderson came back to us, too. He would be huge.

I remember it being reported that Corral changed schools because he had been in quite a few off-the-field fights with teammates. But who really knows the truth to that?

I think he was just in one "fight" with Wayne Gretzky's kid, but it didn't sound like much of a fight and because Gretzky Sr. was a big donor Corral got all of the punishment.

You never know. I had not seen that, though, and if you put it together with what some of the USC guys were saying, it makes sense. I hope we really do have Fields locked in, but I'm with many on here. I will celebrate when we get a verbal commitment, and then I will really celebrate when he signs on the dotted line.

I did a quick search around and didn't see anything that indicated there was more than just the one fight. You never know, though.

Woah. This thread has picked up a little bit this morning and I like it.

Also shows how desperate we are for some good news.

QBs are different from other players because of the leadership responsibility they must assume.
A character issue in a QB is a big deal. CKS could have likely realized that and passed on him.

100% agree with you there. Until that ink dries I'm not sure of anything.
