Something great to look forward to in 2018...and perspective on how good a job CKS is doing at keeping our boys home.

This year (2017), according to the 247 composite top five teams in recruiting, only one player from Georgia went out of state to help boost their ranking above ours.

BAMA
Xavier McKinney(Roswell GA)

OSU
NONE

The other teams ranked lower and only a few of the players were even on our radar.

Michigan
Aubrey Solomon (Leesburg GA)
Kurt Taylor (Covington GA) to Michigan

USC
NONE

The rest of the top 10 in Team Recruiting Rankings (GA takes).

FSU
Bailey Hockman (Powdersprings GA)
Leonard Warner (Snellville GA)
Tamorrion Terry (Ashburn GA)
Ontaria Wilson (Ashburn GA)
Brady Scott (Kennesaw GA)

LSU
Tyler Taylor (Buford GA)
Tory Carter (Leesburg GA)

OU
Trey Sermon (Marietta GA)

Barn
Chandler Wooten (Kennesaw GA)
Malik Willis (Roswell GA)
Markaviest Bryant (Cordele GA)
Carlito Gonzalas (Stone Mountain GA)
Tyrone Truesdell (Augusta GA)
John Samuel Shenker (Moultrie GA)

UF
NONE

Point being we are taking what we need and keeping the majority of the best players home.

The '17 thread is locked so I'll post this here. I went back to look at the 10 previous recruiting years to see where this years haul would put us ranked.

07- 3rd
08- 1st
09- 1st
10- 3rd
11- 1st
12- 2nd
13- 3rd
14- 2nd
15- 3rd
16- 2nd

Considering that alabama is #1 in just about all of these years in the midst of one of CFBs greatest dynasties, it really is a testament to how good this class is that it would rank 1st or 2nd nationally in 6 of the last 10 years.

fullback. Don't know much about him, but he's probably solid.

Rusty put out his "Behind the Scenes 2017" report... He asked subscribers not to summarize since it is private content, but I'll say one thing. The connections that Pittman formed with the OL recruits is amazing. Several OL even refused to set up OV's to schools, even if just for a free trip, because they felt it would disrespectful to Pittman. That's fricking impressive right there. I think his unit struggled this year mainly because he was trying to make chicken shite into chicken salad, but the days of UGA signing 1 legit OL per year seems to be long gone.

And we have some very good in-state talent along the OL in 2018.

how soon do you think the young bucks on the OL will start paying off?

I think we all assume Wilson will contend immediately at RT, if not outright win it in fall camp. Hayes seems to be penciled in for LT but he's not really young.

As far as cleveland, kinley, johnson, thomas, shaffer...what can we expect from those guys this season?

What year of eligibility will Hayes be next year exactly?

Thomas also has a decent shot to start Game 1 imo.

Cleveland needs to get it in gear or he could get buried. Kindley and Netori Johnson are big, talented guys.

I just don't know where though. I LOVE AT and think he's gonna be great for us, but Hayes is a JUCO with a few years leg up on Thomas, and Wilson is a prototype RT. Thomas obviously has the talent but I don't know if he'd surprass either of those from the get go.

Thomas has been overlooked, but after his dominating performance at the Army game he deserves some attention. He and Wilson will be bookend tackles. We are very fortunate to have 2 stud tackles.

Last comment on the O-line. I strongly believe that Netori might be our biggest O-line addition in this class. I'm not saying a guard is more important that a tackle but we struggled on the interior line last year. We tend to focus on the edge, but we were blown up by smaller guys all year. Netori is a mean dude, so he will anchor the interior.

Anyone got the clean list of must gets this year? I know Zamitr White and Trevor LAw. are 2 we will pursue until the ink is dried next year, but who else. Isn't there an extremely talented OG this year in GA?

looks pretty good.

I know we NEED to get zamir, badly. I think the lawrence ship has probably sailed which sucks, but oh well. We'll be just fine wiht eason and fromm, and it looks like in the '18 class we're putting more of an emphasis on a dual threat QB.

Mascoll is from my alma mater and I believe he likes UGA, but he has a teammate that is all FSU so I'm sure they'll be in play, also some scrub that runs teh SGHS twitter account always posts pro FSU stuff so that's a bit worrisome.

Also would love to get derrik allen. Can't have enough 5* DBs.
