Sure he's a TFr but most of the new guy talk has centered around eason, nauta, catalina, holyfield, etc.
Other than Nauta, the other 3 are due to pretty big question marks at their position. I'd say that for the most part, the defensive backs are thought of as a strength going into this season, so that's probably the reason for less discussion on him. I 100% agree though that he's going to be an amazing player and can't wait to see him on the field. My hope is that he gets some meaningful playing time this season, but that's going to put the onus just as much on our offense to actually put us in position to do so. I personally think it's better for freshman to have a bit more of a quiet offseason... grind, work, learn, and get out there and take some playing time from someone...

With the recruiting and coaching history that HC Smart and DC/DBcoach Tucker have had at 'Bama, I would be shocked if they didnt lock down a stellar DB class this year. You would think that, with the 2 of them, that should be our easiest selling point when recruiting IMO

That's just the thing, last year was Mel Tucker's first and onky year at Alabama and his first since his tOSU days. He doesn't really have a current history of recruiting. Maybe he'll be lights out, but right now I'm concerned. Like gatahata said if we keep lecounte, poole, brini, and add gibbs and one more db it will still be a really good db class.

I think UGA landing Webb and Holloman is probably more likely, would love to have Nico on board though.

I hate that they continue to just stockpile elite talent at every position in obsence numbers, but after the report that webb was liking bama a lot this is an extremely good thing for us. Especially since swift/webb are looking to commit in teh next week or so.

Bama thinks they will land Devonte Smith soon to boot, he and Jeudy have a similar skill set.

FWIW, word around Bama boards before Mel took the Georgia job was that he wanted to go back to the NFL because he didn't really want to recruit.
However, that was as a DB coach and not a Defensive Coordinator. He's making a lot more money now so he probably doesn't mind recruiting now.

LSU fans on this site and 247 are buzzing about a huge silent commitment to them and some are speculating it is Smith.
Their mods on 247 apparently know who it is, but haven't CB'd anyone that meets the criteria of being a shocker.

Clemson Insider is reporting that Lawrence still has UGA as his leader and that it probably won't change between now and his commit date. So, there's that...

I saw that post on 247. Don't know much about Clemson Insider but I'll trust what Rusty is saying that no one really has any idea. Only hunches.

A seemingly off-the-wall member on 247, richtismyhomie, posted a text message tweet where someone who claimed to be a friend of a cousin of Lawrence's girlfriend said that Clemson was the choice. I still think he chooses to play in Athens where he fits in better.

Lawerence has played his recruitment so close to the vest that I doubt anyone except he and his parents really know where he wants to go.
