TS - Based on your comments earlier, is Collins likely *not* a take for Bama? I'm thinking he's a Michigan lean, but I'll believe that shite when I see the ink on paper.

We are being told he is a take, but I think the Shavers commitment (along with Jeudy, Smith, Ruggs and Thomas) is concerning to him. He just doesn't appear to be that interested in us at the moment. Most think it's because we are going to take 5-6 WRs.

BOL did a recruiting chat today and Webb was mentioned as being someone Alabama would take, but not until Jerry Jeudy, Devonta Smith, Henry Ruggs and Jeff Thomas make their decisions.

Welcome to the board! That's the kind of information we like to hear....whether it is good or bad news, you might have different insight on recruits we are both interested in. Thanks for chiming in on Webb.

Jacoby Stevens sets decision date, August 8th at 3:30 eastern. I don't feel near as good about him as I did just a couple of weeks ago but we'll see.

Are y'all pushing hard for Aaron Sterling? Most of our mods don't expect him to stick with us (I want to keep him FWIW) but no one ever offers up a landing spot for him.

Good question. For a while we really seemed to be. I haven't heard his name come up since late May though from any of the UGA crowd. I am imagining with Solomon going the wrong direction and seemingly rock solid to Harbaugh, we're focusing efforts on trying to nail down at least one DT for the class (current USCe commit seems to be the flavor of the week). Beal will likely be an OLB/DE. Trying to lock down Malik Herring at DE as well. Markaviest Bryant a big target (as is Walter Grant who could legit play ILB/OLB/DE... do. want.). Not sure how many we're looking to take across the DL this year, so that may play into it as well.

If Sterling was 3 inches taller with that film he'd be a 5-star.

Maybe. I mean Stephenson plays 6A, but they largely abuse their region. In most of his footage, it's him blowing past either a Center who was slow getting to the block after the snap or a guard that looks to have completely blown his assignment. He's fast, and definitely has a great first step and instincts, but I didn't see a lot of "beating a block" rather the block just not happening. Admittedly, I haven't watched all his film, but did just run through a quick glimpse of it to remind myself. I think he's good for sure, but not sure I can glean great from the footage alone. With that said, I would trust Saban & Co's evaluation of DL talent... it hasn't steered you wrong so far.

any update on the TAMU commit, DL Ratu Mafileo, visit?

An Oregon poster on the SECR said he didn't make to Athens.

It doesn't sound like he did. Probably ends up at Oregon.

Tennessee mods over on Rivals broke it to their board that Georgia is firmly in the lead for Gibbs and him landing anywhere but Athens would be an upset. They didn't take it very well, apparently.

Aubrey Solomon's mother made a statement that they would be back in Athens soon and that Aubrey's 5 official visits could change after that. Seems like she really wants him closer to home, particualry Athens.

Devonte Wyatt is a solid plan b though. Really like his speed with that 6"4 300lb frame. A lot upside I think and I could still see him on our commit list down the road regardless of Sololmon's decisions.

The position class that I am most concerned about right now is db. Terrell seems to be a heavy Clemson lean, Williams is a heavy Cock lead, and Brini is now saying that he is only 90% committed and that Uf and Miami are moving up. I think people need to hang up on the Jacoby Stevens saga. That kid ain't coming. So that leaves LeCounte and Poole after Brini decommits, which I think he will. Db class is starting to look pretty desperate.

A new offer did go out to this kid though so take it all for what it's worth.

I think we hold on to Brini. Lecounte, Poole, Gibbs, Brini, and one or two we aren't sure of is not a bad DB class at all. Not the great one we were expecting, say, a month ago. But not a bad one at all.

Brini, Lecounte, Poole, and Gibbs would still be the best DB class we've had in quite some time. Those are big time players that would make us an elite secondary in a couple of years.

Trevor Lawrence received a CB from a Tenn. insider yesterday to Clemson, we will be fine at QB either way but it sure would be sweet to bag him. I imagine he will commit soon.

Lets not forget Hardman will start out in the secondary and he has the skill set to be a future #1 CB.

so excited to see what he can do. I feel like for whatever reason his name hasn't even been mentioned when talking about this upcoming season.

Sure he's a TFr but most of the new guy talk has centered around eason, nauta, catalina, holyfield, etc.

Yeah... That specific insider is barely above .500 on his CBs historically, so feels more like a shot in the dark than anything else... maybe chatted with a coach, but as of late TL has elected to not give any interviews. Still think he could go either way, but that specific CB doesn't concern me particularly. IIRC it's the *only* CB for Clemson thus far, which is a bit more surprising.
