Will Campbell again

I said before the season that he was going to be special, and he has looked the part so far.

6 game hit streak for Campbell.

2nd HR in 2 straight games, this one he dropped right over the batter's eye in dead center.

This is the most offensive ability I've seen on a UGA team since Stricklin got here.

If the pitching can level out, we may not be too bad. Locey has had a much improved day today, only 2 hits through 4 and 2/3 innings. Still has some control issues as he is throwing wild and walking guys

Don't get me wrong, long way to go before this team is doing anything other than making a low seed in the SEC tourney.

But there's certainly good potential there with a lot of young guys

I have no trust in anyone coming out of the pen, nor do I have trust in Stricklin putting the right people in at the right moments.

We're up 3-0 in the bottom of the 6th, but I have no optimism that we are going to hang on. Its Stricklin.

When I say pitching, that's largely what I mean. I've seen enough of Smith, Locey, and Adkins at this point to believe they'll get better and be serviceable weekend starters but our pen is so hit and miss and Stricklin is clearly hellbent on using his freshmen.

Did Drew Moody quit the team? Seen damn near every other pitcher on staff but him so far

Case in point: we replace Locey (had a good day through 5 innings) with another freshman, Elliot, who is all over the place and already has a runner in scoring position because of a wild pitch

Moody is still on the official roster on the site. Couldnt find anything on google about him.

Has to be some unknown injury.

Has to be hurt. No other explanation I can come up with why you'd throw two position guys in close games over Moody if available

Dawgs able to get a 2 out rally going in the 7th, entirely engineered by freshmen. Proctor managed to score before Bradley was thrown out trying to get greedy and snag 3rd.

I want Cookout so goddamn bad right now but it'd be a 15 minute drive there and back and I wanna watch the end of this thing and catch the basketball game

Schunk leads off the 8th with a triple to the right field corner

Campbell draws a walk, runners on the corners with nobody out. Dawgs could blow this thing wide open

McGovern with shot toward first, Cleveland able to field it and get the out but Campbell advances safely to 2nd. Runners in scoring position with Curry at the plate. 1 out

A second Cookout just opened up on the west side of Nashville. Probably a 10 min drive for me, but I have to be good and eat healthy.

Im going to gush about him one more time, but how about that AB from Campbell? He knows the strike zone so well. Earned that walk.

Campbell and Sasser both have brought back pleasant memories from that 08 team at the plate. So patient, understanding the importance of making college pitchers drive that pitch count up through walks and fouls.

Passed ball scores Schunk from 3rd, Campbell now 90 ft away. Biggar at the plate, not Curry

And Biggar draws a walk, runners on the corners again with 1 out

These Southern jerseys are just awful. Besides the big outline of the state in the middle, they look like under armor workout shirts.

Southern is just awful top to bottom. Funny to me that for as much success as they've had in their history, Ga State and App State (arguably their biggest rivals at this point) are passing them by in facilities and such.

Southern seems to suffer from the same "dur we do things the right way and don't need to spend money to make money" that we do (though admittedly on a much smaller scale)

I will say that they have done some nice upgrades to the baseball stadium from what Ive seen. It was a piece of crap when I was there as a visiting opponent 8 years ago.
