Only if there is a chance that the QB may throw the ball....which doesn't happen when GA runs it.

The way we've been running it you have a distinct numbers *disadvantage* as the entire defensive backfield can key on the run...especially the DB or LB covering big slow white Jacob Eason that dropped in the slot or wide out spot.

Gibbs is already working on the first team defense at STAR.

LeCounte and Dom Sanders had pick-6's as well. Sounds like the freshman are integrating nicely early on.

If we are gonna do a Wild Dawg play then Stetson Bennett should be running it. Kids accuracy is spot on, and he runs a 4.5 . He may have just been a 2 star walk-on, but if Chaney uses him right he can be a dangerous weapon

With that name, he should be captaining a polo team.

Not true at all. Did you ever watch Kentucky from this past year. They did it all the time with a power or counter scheme and just play down hill all game. It doesn't matter that they know your gonna run it. You have more bodies on the perimeter and less bodies in the box.

This is the most asinine play in CFB. Trot in the runner once a series to take a snap when everyone in the stadium knows what they're going to do.

I agree. You'd need to build an entire offense around that kind of play......oh yeah, somebody already did that 100 years ago. Bring back the Single Wing and the Notre Dame Box lol!

I know its early, but the first team O-line is not exactly building my confidence...

Wynn-Sims-Gaillard-Kindley-Bynum

Juco guy getting second team reps, but at RT. Looks like they are good with Wynn at LT for the time being.

Fingers crossed one of the freshmen/Juco guy can find a way into the starting 5

I'm not worried in the slightest, yet.

Gotta remember it's week 1 of spring ball. For starters, things will drastically change once Wilson gets on campus. C/RG I'm fine with and might not even change at all. Give the newcomer Hayes some time to get his feet wet then he'll likely slide over to LT. I bet in week 1 of fall camp the above lineup is completely different.

not OK if that stands

I might actually prefer Wynn at tackle to OG. His size (or lack of it) is a problem with what UGA wants to do in the running game.

I can see that. Sims may be in the same boat, though. Really hoping Netori Johnson/Shaffer come into camp in good shape and can possibly slide into one of the guard positions.

It would be classic Georgia to have the best backfield in the country but an offensive line that couldn't open up any holes for them

I'd be surprised if Sims isn't around 310 by the start of camp. He's a big dude

He's big, I just have reservations about his skill.

But I hope you're right. Freshman class should provide good depth at the least.

Our defensive line, on the other hand...

I think Thomas will earn a spot this fall.

Just a gut feeling

Stetson Bennett

He's been overlooked by everyone who hasn't seen him play.
UGA got a steal.

compare his numbers with Eason & Fromm. Almost identical from percentage to total yds, tds, every stat... except he's 6'0 instead of 6'5".

however he does have fewer ints and runs a 4.5

Remember when Catalina came in, he was at 2nd and even 3rd team initially.

As Smart said, you don't bring in a JUCO or grad transfer to be a backup. They must think Hayes is pretty good. Would be surprised if he's not starting at one of the tackle spots by the time the season starts. Maybe even the left tackle.

Wilson also may be too good to redshirt. He could be starting early in the season too.

I'm not concerned at this point but no matter how talented Wynn may be, no major program should have a 6-2 left tackle.
