Is it just me, or is anyone else not a little ticked that. UGA and for that matter GT, didn't have a double header in 2017 for the first college football games, in the new new 1B state of the art stadium ,that our tax money is paying for?

GT wouldn't be able to sell out their ticket alottment.

UGA has the kickoff game in 2016, so it wouldn't be fair to have them do it two years in a row.

The promoters are trying to be as inclusive as they can to all the southern schools, while also putting together as attractive headlines as they can. It's a balancing act for them.

tldr; I ain't mad.

They could have had Tech vs AU/Bama and sold out. Move the nd to the KOC.

AU/Bama would have to agree to play Tech. That's the problem.

I also read somewhere , that the game the just scheduled FSU-UA., might be 1 of 3 scheduled and Stokan wants Thusday, Saturday, and Monday.
And that he wants GT against an SEC school.

Could be a coup if he were to get say GT-AU on Thursday night with Bama and FSU on Saturday with a 3rd , in Monday, Say UGA-Clemson

I doubt they'd turn down a sure win in a high profile game.

Agree with all of this.

As for the OP, I believe that they were actually looking for UGA vs FSU as a matchup. That game may have been for 2016 but I thought it was for 2017 in the new dome. And I think UGA is the one who nixed it.

That's just it, as of right now the only game scheduled in the new dome is Sat Sep 2 2017, FSU-BAMA.

Is there a new article saying it's a done deal?

I really don't see us in the kickoff classic in 2017, for one simple reason. Assuming we cancel either the Samford or App State game, playing in the kickoff game would only leave us with five home games during the season.

Yes but. I honestly don't know the reasons why Alabama and FSU were chosen outside of the Falcons treating Alabama like a farm team on every NFL draft day...
