Also looking at the standings and schedule, we could EASILY end up tied for 3rd after Saturday. Well, actually now that I look again, we already are tied for third, but we're really the 6th team down.

We're currently 5-4. First let's pretend we beat AU, not unlikely by any means. UK and UF are both 6-3 adn they play each other so assuming we win we'll be tied with that loser. SC is 6-3 and plays @aTm, probable loss for SC. Plausible standings after saturday:

aTm and LSU 8-2
UK/UF winner 7-3
UK/UF loser, UGA, SC 6-4

teh back stretch of our conference schedule is much, much more managable than the first half. With a bit less turnovers and some better FT shooting we could make a little run here.

Yep, if we close 6-3 down the stretch (tough but definitely do-able) we will be on the bubble entering conference tournament time (RPI would be around 50).

We've opened as 11.5 point favorites tomorrow. Absolutely a must win to keep tourney hopes alive.

Jerry Palm has us listed as the last team of the "first 4 out" section so we are definitely still in contention. Need to win games like today and steal one more quality win somewhere. That Ole Miss loss could come back to haunt us but at least we are still in the discussion.

Yep. Need to get some momentum and finish strong heading into the SECt. I think we can get there.Wouldn't be surprised if we got fricked over by the committee wanting to get Simmons in there

Agreed, Simmons and LSU will definitely get a bump to get him in the tourney. They have several bad losses and a low RPI. Wish we played them at home.

Not a huge deal, but Louisville sitting out the NCAA's adds a spot for a bubble team. They would have been a lock, so the field is essentially one spot larger this year.

SMU is banned this year too so really 2 "extra" bubble spots out there.

Not terribly familiar with RPI. How would SC winning this game (assuming they close it out) impact us, if at all? Looks to be a good win for them if they can do it.

Our win over SC is easily our big quality win we've been badly needing. Them continuing to do well only makes that win look better

Let's be honest though, we arn't gonna be a tourney team given the rest of our schedule. Probable losses to @UK, @Vandy, and @SCar.

If we lost those three road games but won the others we'd be in the dance potentially.

Every year people overstate how difficult it is to get in. 68 teams make it, with two strong RPI teams not dancing due to scandal (SMU and Louisville) there will be some less than stellar bubble teams that sneak in. If we close out 6-3 then win one game in the SEC tourney our RPI will be low 50s and we'll have a shot at the tourney.
