Dawgs take 2 of 3 from Mizzou, leaving us at .500 on the season (26-26) and all but securing us a spot in Hoover (10-17).

We have 4 more regular season games left and anywhere from 1 to 3 games in Hoover. The goal here is to just finish with a winning record and we will likely finish with a high enough RPI to make a regional. At this point, we need to get a relatively young team as much postseason experience as possible.

Tuesday - Tech (at Turner Field)
Thursday - Tennessee
Friday - Tennessee
Sunday - Tennessee

All 4 games are winnable (a win over Tech gives us a much needed sweep over a tournament team). Tennessee is facing a sweep by LSU and could be 2-9 of their last 11 heading into their midweek matchup.

We need to capitalize on that; if we can sweep Tennessee we have a good shot at making a regional.

If we can beat Tech AND sweep Tennessee, we have a very good shot at making it.

If we beat Tech but go 2 of 3 against UTk, we still have a shot.

If we lose to Tech and go 2 of 3 against UTk, we likely need a win in Hoover to keep us alive

If we lose to Tech and lose the UTk series, we have to make a deep run in Hoover to have a chance (though if we lose the series to UTk, we really have no business going to a regional)

I honestly wouldnt count us in if we are something like 29-28, especially with a conference record of something like 12-18, and going one and done at Hoover.

I think 4-0 this week and 0-1 in Hoover or 3-1 this week and 1-1 in Hoover should get us in. That would put us at 30-27 or 30-28. Anything less, and Im not sure we get in.

Either way, we need to be cheering for Alabama and Wright State. Both are right outside of the top 50, and they could greatly bolster our record vs 1-50.

Eh, with the #1 SOS, a top 30 RPI, and series wins over USCe, Bama, Tech, and Wright State, I think we get pretty decent consideration. We'll be on the bubble for sure but it all depends on who else is on the bubble with us.

Exactly. No team above .500 and 30 or higher in RPI has ever been denied. We just need to finish with a winning record and we will be in the tourney.

A top 25 RPI should guarantee us a spot in a regional. Albeit, that top 25 ranking probably means finishing at least .500 or better after the SEC Tournament.

It's a rule that you have to winning record to make the tournament

Sucks too cause I can think of multiple losses that were very close that are biting us right now (OT vs ga southern, 9th inning vs WKU, loss to Charlotte, close loss to MSU that we led for most of the game, losses to mercer and kennesaw, OT loss to Bama)

So, we could have been 33-19 (12-15) right now

Not 100% sure but I believe that LSU(?) missed the tournament with a rpi of 21.

Freshman C Michael Curry has been named a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball and the SEC Freshman of the Week

Dawgs up 4-2 in the top of the 9th of game 2 but have put two Vols on with nobody out

And we just loaded the bases on a HBP for Tennessee's best player and future 1st rounder

Passed ball. 4-3 Dawgs. Like our team, the season is unraveling in front of us

Wild pitch. Tied game. Nobody out. Painted corners. frick the shite out of this team for choking

A single, a walk, a HBP, another walk, a passed ball, and a wild pitch. That's the fricking score for the top half of the 9th inning which we led by 2 runs until just now. Seriously, frick this team. We don't deserve a regional

Dawgs lose 5-4 and the season is pretty much over (we have no chance to do anything meaningful in Hoover). We'll try to retain some dignity tomorrow by not losing a series to this garbage tennessee program but at this point I don't give a shite anymore.

Win today, then win 2 in Hoover and we are going to get a regional spot! Winning 2 in Hoover won't happen, but a man can hope.....

Down 2-0 in the 3rd. We get our two lead off batters to 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. We then proceed to have our 2, 3, and 4 batters strike out consecutively to end the inning.

Explain this shite to me.
