10-2. Beat Bama, lost to Tenn in Knox. I'm conceding that as a loss at this point. Just already feels like one of those games that Richt likes to lose. I don't know where our other loss comes from but it's bound to piss me off.

Bama, UT and Mizzou...if we get through that stretch 2-1 I will be happy. It would be just like us to beat Bama and UT and lose to Mizzou, which would cost us the East.

11-1 losing to UF then making the SECCG where we beat Ole Miss worse than TCU did everyone anoints us as the best team and we lose first round of CFP to Ohio State. Nick Chubb wins Heisman

Ramsey starts...chubb gets over 2k...UGA goes 11-1 with a few ill-advised throws to end the game in Knoxville. UGA stomps USCe for the first time in awhile....UGA wins the SEC on the back of a top 10 defense but doesn't make it to the big dance and is eliminated in round 1

Any reason behind this other than your hatred of the coaching staff for whatever reason?

I rarely post as my realadawg view goes against the disneydawg tide here.

BUT,

Richt made an excellent DC hire and I choose to believe he did the same with the new OC.

Breaking in a new QB is standard procedure for an experienced coach. If anything Richt is experienced. I think the offense will grind down opponents with the occasional flash of lightning. I see Fauta getting significant playing time early then starting, or I see Ramsey growing into a badass. I don't think Richt will split the baby all season. Park wouldn't have transferred if something wasn't up. I don't see the UVA guy being the reason,

I think the D will be reminiscent of Erk's era.

11-2. No SEC championship game or playoffs, win the bowl game. But, my realadawg arse will see this as one of the better GA teams of the last 30 years.

Worse case 8-4. Best case right now 9-3. If they find a QB and center, maybe 10-2, but the defense will need to be a lot better than last season for that to happen. But, that's just my opinion.

And when is the last time UGA had a championship type defense?

9-3.

This is as bad as I've felt about QB going into a season since 2001. Just a really lousy feeling. Fortunately our defense should be very, VERY good, our RBs are elite, our OL and WR are quite good as well. But obviously QB is a pretty important position, and we have some tough games this year. I would like to nudge us up to 10-2, but I just can't see us having the same regular season record in 15 as in 14, considering what we lose and who we add on the schedule. Other stuff:

-Chubb with 1400+ yards
-IMac with 2 ST return TDs
-D.Sanders with 4 INTs
-Ramsey with 20 TD/14 Int

02-04.

05-07 and '12 were good ENOUGH, in the sense that we could have potentially won a title with them. But 02-04 was the last time we had a unit that was good enough to carry a team for a full season if it had to (and 2 of those seasons did have to).

October?

I'm on vacation in the mountains and I want to come home and think about it with more details.

pretty narrow expectations there.

10-2. I'm not even going to try to predict which games are losses. We make SECCG but lose. NY6 bowl, which we also lose.

Chubb in top 10 of heisman voting, but doesn't have nearly the per-carry production of last year.

The good thing is, we can hide a poor qb with these strengths. There is a model for success with having a mediocre quarterback. Run the football and play very good defense and you're going to win a lot of games.

9-3

Loss to Auburn, amd then 2 out of Alabama/UT/Mizzou/Tech

Beat the shite out of someone in a New Years Bowl and get the hype train running for next year

I just don't think we have a QB that can lead us to double digit wins this year. I hope I'm wrong. I'm also not sold on Shotty yet

I totally agree. But there's a difference in a QB just being ho hum and not really being a threat, and a QB that turns the ball over a lot and kills drive, kills momentum, and tires the defense.

I'm not saying we need ramsey to be aaron murray, we just need him to not turn the ball over. And based on what we've seen thus far in his career, I haven't seen anything to lead me to believe he will be good in that department. Of course, he could be much improved, so I don't know.

Well I mean the kid really hasn't played that much. We got to see him in the bowl game but that was a less than ideal situation for him. I think him having a whole offseason with the first team guys will be very good for him and should help with confidence.

But if we're being honest, I'd prefer to see Bauta get a long look. He always impressed me and from what we've heard is a film rat.

If any of our 3 QB's can just do as much as McCarron, McElroy, etc. did at Bama, we'll be fine. They don't have to be world beaters. Just hand the ball off, make the throws that are there and watch our D wreck stuff.

Right, but that's not what I'm saying. mccarrson, mcelroy, mason, etc...those weren't guys that put fear in a defense, but they controlled the game. My fear isn't that Ramsey isn't going to throw for 3,000 yards and 30 TDs, I know he won't. My fear is that he's going to be utterly careless with the ball, which is something none of those other guys were.

I agree with Georgia Boy.

Special teams seemed to get fixed last year, so barring injuries like we had in 2013, if we simply get average qb play, I see no reason we cant win them all. Despite some of the questionmarks, i think the rest of the team is that good.
