We need to get some rebounds. That last quarter was an abomination on defense. It seems like the Pistons had the ball the entire quarter.

We need a "Hawks Icon" so when the Falcons tank....

This team, again, lacks size in the middle. They cannot continue to give up so many offensive rebounds. Another soft spot in the lineup is at small forward. I’m glad the Hawks didn’t write Carroll a blank check, but Bazemore is not the answer. He is too small to be guarding the SF position. I think the Hawks need to explore any and all SF options on the trade block. There only asset is a 1st round pick, but I think it would be enough to upgrade that position.

I really don't see why we don't try and utilize the following lineup:
C - Splitter
PF - Horford
SF - Millsap
SG - Korver
PG - Teague
I mean we would lose some of our speed, but we would still be able to space out our shooters, plus Horford would be able to easily body up against most if not all the PF's in the NBA. What killed us last year was our inability to crash the boards on both sides of the court. We couldn't get any offensive rebounds for second chance opportunities, and we gave up way too many offensive rebounds because we were too worried about running the court. It worked for the most part, but come playoff time when the game slows down, you need to be able to have those bigs down low that can get you those crucial 2nd/3rd shot opportunities. Mozgov DESTROYED us down low.
Splitter and Tavares SHOULD help us out there, but I think we should trot out the lineup I posted to see how things go. We have plenty of depth on our bench to run it.
Schroeder
Sefalosha
Bazemore
Moose
Scott
Tavares
Patterson
Mack
Hardaway Jr.
I think realistically we are carrying way too many guards. We could use another Forward to help rotate for when Scott is inevitably thrown in jail for the rest of his playing career

Hornets on deck time for some B-ball!
Sweet game having five Hawks in double digits tonight.

ESPN is literally hyping Miami for the same reasons they were trashing us last year.

I went to the game last night, problem is pretty clear, when we face teams with true bigs that can clean up the glass, we're going to struggle a lot. Love Bazemore, he's one of my favorite Hawks, but he's not a starter. He's best in a reserve role, giving us energy when we need it. I'm thinking, or at least hoping, that Baze will start the first 10-20 games, and give Thabo enough time to get fully recovered, before he's inserted as the starter at the 3.
Carroll got a lot more rebounds and did a great job boxing out down low. He didn't get enough credit for all he did (a lot of things), and we'll miss him for sure. But I agree with the move, you can't pay him what Toronto shelled out for him.

Jeff Teague is slowly reaching superstar status. He's unreal.

Hawks looking good tonight. I hope they get another streak like last year and get a nice division was built up for a buffer.
