Don't think there was much doubt about him

You never know what a kids home situation is or if he can continue academically. Back in the day the league only paid about $100K for UDFAs. The min salary is now $450K. Pretty positive news...just saying.

This is still great news

I miss your koolaid Sarge. When will it flow again? Post bowl game?

Boxer, my brother, my koolaid is brewed with tears these days......bitter and sad....look elsewhere for happiness for it is not here

We need to ban Kool-Aid until Sumlin makes the playoffs. No more will be had.

Seriously though I hate the thought of looking at next year as some sort of lost cause. I will keep hunting for a koolaid packet.

Did kool-aid flow after Slocum won the GalleryFurniture.com Bowl?
I ask because this is basically the same bowl rebranded for the fourth time.

I have made more shite talking hay out of beating TCU in that bowl than any other non-major bowl win in the entire history of A&M. So I don't know what happened directly after that win, but Jesus have I milked the shite out of it in the fifteen years that followed.

Recap of the 2002 season:
R.C. Slocum fires his offensive coordinator after the third game of the season, a game in which A&M holds Virginia Tech to less than 200 yards of total offense, yet LOSES 13-3. Kevin Sumlin is promoted to offensive coordinator and things look good until the Aggies blow a 14-point 4th quarter lead against Texas Tech at home and lose in overtime as the kicker misses the PAT that would have forced a second overtime. 2 weeks later, A&M blows a 17-point 2nd half lead to Nebraska at home and loses. The next week, A&M loses to Oklahoma State for the first time ever and it looks like Slocum is done. The following week, Reggie McNeal leads A&M to victory over #1 Oklahoma at Kyle and saves Slocum's job...except it doesn't, as they lose to a 7-loss Missouri team in overtime at home the very next week. After closing the season with a 50-20 loss to t.u. in which both John Saunders and Terry Bowden famously tell A&M to "know their place" and that they shouldn't fire Slocum, R.C. is fired by Robert Gates the next week.

If we are playing things that way then it's basically the Bluebonnet Bowl.

Same damn bowl with another meh opponent nobody cares about. It's like we only play irrelevant schools everytime we play a bowl in Houston.
TCU?
Northwestern?
Kansas State?
I hope the SEC picks up more bowls with the Pac12 in the future.

I will get excited, but I will keep that excitement to myself unless I'm really drunk.
