Will Sumlin have the humility to ask Chavis for input on the offense?

I always thought this was a comical flaw of Miles at LSU. They struggled on offense while having a DC that could gameplan for just about any offense.

It's no secret that Chavis has been able to slow Sumlin's offense down the last three years. I assume that Sumlin could improve a ton from talking to Chavis about his own weaknesses.

article touches on the subject

This article talks about them communicating about it. I have not found the one that talked explicitly about it though

Sumlin is always pushing for input, that's why he gives his coordinators so much freedom, it's also why you see our coaches visiting other programs and coaching conferences so frequently.

Yeah, that was one of the very first things that Sumlin said after the hire, that he askd Chavis how he stopped us and that Chavis was very proud of stopping Johnny both years.

Chavis stopped is by holding our receivers and playing contain on Johnny. Also he forced him left as much as possible. Can't wait till our corners get the respect from the refs to cling to receivers like sweaters.

You don't have to force Johnny left. You just have to be there when he goes.
