Honestly, if we have a better total defensive ranking than LSU at season's end it probably means we won the SEC West and are in the conversation if not a lock for the playoff. It would likely require a top-25 ranking given how talented LSU is and the style they play, and a top-25 defense with our offense would be tough to top.
That's just fantasy until proven otherwise IMO. We are only 3 deep if that at corner in terms of guys with any real college experience and half of our linebacking two deep is either new to campus this year or played one game last year.

I look at it this way: MSU has been here for 80 years, their only conference title was during WWII and even last year when all the stars aligned, the schedule was favorable and with their best player ever it still wasnt enough to win the West. Winning this league in football is the toughest feat in college sports, hell its been tougher than winning the national title a couple times.
I will lose my goddamn mind if we ever do it.
I look at it this way: MSU has been here for 80 years, their only conference title was during WWII and even last year when all the stars aligned, the schedule was favorable and with their best player ever it still wasnt enough to win the West. Winning this league in football is the toughest feat in college sports, hell its been tougher than winning the national title a couple times.
I will lose my goddamn mind if we ever do it.

It's because they think our excitement about Chavis somehow means we have these unrealistic expectations that we simply do not endorse here.

The excitement about Chavis was moreso because lsufan laughed at the very idea of us being able to pry him away.
