I'm starting to think I'm the only one who likes Sumlin.

I like him, but wouldn't mind moving on if he doesn't win 8 this year.

My confidence level that he's the right guy is pretty low. If he goes 8-4 in year 5 I think he should be fired but I imagine we keep him if that happens

I still like him, but he's lost me forever if we don't win 10 games this year.

It is not a matter of like or dislike for me. He seems like a good guy. It is clear to me that he is a leader. He did fantastically year 1 and has been mostly solid since. However things are trending down and we have yet to find a suitable replacement at QB for a full year, yet alone multiple years. Then you add in it took him a while to improve the defense, but also hired one of the best best DCs in the nation so its good and bad. Ultimately he needs to improve on 2015 with so many returning players and improvements in the staff. If not then I think it is time to consider replacing him if there is an upgrade out there. I don't want to fire him just to fire him then miss on your top 7 guys and settle for Charlie Strong.

Love him but hated how long he held onto Spav
Want him to win more and hope that the coordinator moves make it happen

I like the coaching staff he has assembled for the most part. I really like Chavis and Turner and I would be sad about losing them in a regime change. I like what Sumlin has done with social media.
That's all I got.

Definitely not the only one. 59-0 put a really bad taste in my mouth and it's tough to recover from that. But looking at his record after 4 years:
Kevin Sumlin: 36-16
Mike Sherman: 25-25
Dennis Franchione: 25-25
RC Slocum: 39-10-1
Jackie Sherrill: 26-18-1
So RC did better against inferior competition. Nobody else was close. Plus he has hired the best coaching staff I ever remember A&M having. I won't put a minimum number of wins on his job. Obviously a losing season would be bad and cause to be fired, but I don't think anybody expects that to happen.

Fun with #s:
More than a quarter of Sumlin's losses (31.25%) came against teams that played in the SEC title game.
18.75% of Sumlin's losses and 1 win came against a team that played in the National Championship game; resulting in 2 National Championships by Bama.
*If Ole Miss vacates their wins those percentages go up to 35.7% SEC title contenders and 21.4% to a National Championship contender.

This would undoubtedly be the worst part. I think Sumlin is replaceable, but whoever replaces him almost assuredly will not be bringing the same caliber of staff.

Sumlin's the best 4-loss coach in the nation

I said earlier 8 is the minimum to consider bringing him back (only because I'd want to see how the recruiting is and what options are out there) but 10 including the bowl game is really what the standard should be. If he can't get to that with this team, he won't get to double digit wins again for awhile.

I'm past having any feelings of "like" or confidence in regards to Summy. It's up to the big boys to decide if he hits the mark or if they want to spend money on a replacement at the end of the year.
I will say that the swagger thing has worn a bit thin.

I really like Sumlin and unless we win 7 or less I doubt he gets fired. Us winning 7 or less isn't even very realistic either so he's back next year imo. This team is VERY good as is the current coaching staff. I think Sumlin is still an elite recruiter and after these next 10 wins he's going to show that in a big way

Maybe we should hire Strong? Sips are really positive after their 5-7 season....
Maybe we could hire Tom Herman? Just hope we don't run into a "buzz saw" like 6-7 UCONN in the SEC and lose to them like UH did last year.

Sumlin lost to 4-8 Rice while at UH. And 4-8 UTEP. And 4-8 Marshall.

He did that with his 4th string QB.

100% false. Keenum took almost every snap in all 3 games.
