Another coaching mistake, B Will was by far our best RB last season and we desperately needed him to get some reps once White went down. Harvey stepped up at CB and we could have gotten Williams involved on offense. B Will had an awesome Spring at RB and was a game breaker with his speed. Have the balls to make an adjustment and put our team in the best position to win please

sounds like his opinion rather than some player's insight.

I actually applaud sumlin and chavis for making the switch. his body type is not suited to be an NFL RB but rather CB.

I am not buying all this Herman crap, he is the Sumlin V2.0 . He is not a proven coach. it would be stupid of Tamu to repeat the same mistake all over again. playing in a shitty conference and getting all of these Ws against crappy schools means nothing just look at Sumlin records at UH and look what he has done at Tamu. A&M needs hire a proven and experience coach

Based on what, winning two games at smu?

I'm messing with you...sort of. He is the exact type of coaching hire we would make however. Because "he gets it".

Yeah I'm not buying the he's sumlin v2.0.

Herman Highlights:

- won his conference title
- went 13-1 in first year as head coach
- beat Florida state in the peach bowl
- finished the season ranked #8 in the country
- signed a top 30 class (highest finish for any school outside power 5)
- won national championship at Ohio state as offensive coordinator

But don't worry, he won't be coming here. Instead he might be fricking a&m over for the next couple of decades from that school in Austin.

I Would love to hire a coach who has major experience and has won conference titles, however, I wouldn't be surprised if we take a chance on someone with a less impressive resume than Herman.

All of that reads like any regular A&M message board poster's thoughts. I would be interested to know how people know he's an A&M player's dad. He also inserted a random "anal spelunker" in there

Tom Herman is not coming to A&M. He's going to UTw where he's going to win big destroy us for decades.

The guy won a Natty as OSU's OC, won the conference as a first year HC at UH (Sumlin NEVER won the conference) and has recruited better there than anyone has there in 30 years, if not ever, and better than any other non P-5 coach in America.

Those of you doubting him are fricking retarded.

But he ain't coming to A&M.

We need to see what Chad can do at SMU. Hopefully he can pull off a turnaround and be our guy. Winning 9 games at SMU after June Jones dug their already deep hole all the way to China would be on the same level of difficulty as taking A&M to the playoff.

Which is why the best thing for us next year is Charlie wins 9 with a bowl. And some other big Power 5 job opens and Herman goes elsewhere.

I think eight regular season games is the floor.

I guess it also depends on how well Houston does.

When a random anonymous poster says something that echoes your own personal opinions, then they obviously have inside info.

Why do people act as if Herman can walk on water? People forget that Herman did not build the defense he currently has. He inherited that. The defense got him out of a lot of holes this season. His true worth will be revealed this upcoming year and quite frankly, I see at least 3 loses in that schedule.

Freeze and Patterson definitely are not coming here. Herman likely not also

I'm unsure about Herman, but I would say definitely no to Patterson and Freeze. Patterson's wife is a Fort Worth gal, so he's bound to the city for his career, I believe. She also operates a local charity in Fort Worth.

Freeze is a Mississippi guy, and I doubt he'd ever leave unless Alabama came calling (and that's just a guess). I believe his quote is that there is only one school he'd leave for, though he didn't state which one it was. But I highly doubt it's A&M.

I'd be interested to see how Fuentes does at V-Tech. He was a Patterson disciple, and so far he has impressed me. What he did at Memphis is encouraging.

He's from Oklahoma, so he knows the area. Plus his successful stint at TCU gives him an in for coaches in Texas.

If Fuentes does well at V-Tech, then he would be someone I would have my eye on. I like his brand of football.

Prospective coaches are a lot like backup QBs when it comes to football fans

Nobody of consequence is going to come to A&M if we fire Sumlin. Too many great jobs out there with realistic fanbases.

A&M would be starting all over again if we move on from Sumlin. We would now be behind every SEC West and Big 12 team from the standpoint of stability. It would make recruiting even tougher.

We are already behind in terms of stability. Sumlin made sure of that by mishandling the QB situation (and continues to do so) flirting with the NFL in the midst of all the instability, and waiting a month to fire Spavital.

Wat.

If he's fired after next season he will have had five seasons each worse than the last. Sherman only got four years. Fran got five. i feel like five years is more than fair to get a big picture view of a coach and where the program is heading under him.

He's going to whoop the dog snot out of everyone when he goes to UTw. Mark my words. We had our chance to strike during their down-cycle at the end of Mack's tenure and through their doldrums with Strong while we had the SEC & Johnny bump and blew it because Sumlin sucks.
