So I'm hearing mixed info regarding our D. I've heard everyone is making good strides, and I've also heard some kids aren't buying in to chavis' system. Also, what about Alaka? Does anybody know what's going on with him?

Baby steps bro.
Wrecking Crew is the long term goal.
I just want to see some decent improvement this year.

When LSU fans no longer have a gif like the one we have seen too many times this offseason.

Yeah. Which is why I'm wondering about Alaka. Anybody have a word on him?

My question is: where are you hearing about players not buying into the system? Would be the first I have heard even a whiff of that sort of thing.

Greg McElroy said on XM radio yesterday that he knew for a fact that a key player was not buying in to Chavis's coaching
At least that's what I remember

Think you are mistaken as if someone like McElroy had said it, it would be all over this site
There are always going to be disgruntled guys when coaching staffs change and it's almost universally guys that slide down the depth chart. They feel like they've earned their spot in the past but they aren't getting their due.
I'm certain there are guys like that so pretending there aren't is pointless. But I've not heard a single negative peep since mid-spring (and one guy mentioned has since transferred and no one even noticed). Anyway, I find it very doubtful there is a "key" player upset (first, who is really key? Garrett and...?)

It is going to happen. Some players benefit and some don't from change, and the ones that don't aren't going to like the system as much as the old one. Plus from what I understand Snyder was well liked, which makes everything harder from a player perspective.
We just have to hope he gets enough buy-in, and we get lucky (like Brandon Williams turns into a NFL-level DB).

It was the show that Greg McElroy does but I'm not sure if he or the other guy that does the show with him who said it
But it WAS said or something very similar to what I typed above

Yep, that's it. As insufferable as a lot of those frickbags on TA are, they usually have good intel.

I was listening to the First Team on XM this morning and Taylor Z said he knew of one of the Aggies top defenders who was not buying into Chavis' system. Has anybody heard this before? He made it sound like this player was just ready to move on to the NFL.
This guy heard the same thing that I heard yesterday. I was listening as well.
