You are giving her way too much credit. The mind of a race-baiting scorned housewife doesn't operate on a high enough level to really calculate the risk.

It's a lot more likely that some emotional drunk idiot wrote that letter

So your theory is that there's a woman out there who takes Aggie football so seriously that she wrote a threatening letter dropping the N-bomb? Because no man has handwriting like that.

My wife doesn't even really watch the games. I find it hard to believe that a woman would take Ag football THAT seriously in the first place, much less take the agressive step of writing that letter.

Most likely, SJW Charlene wrote the letter and addressed it from the only country club in Houston with no black members in order to add more racial "flair" to it.

Basically everyone online has condemned it. What the hell are you talking about?

The letter is very likely legitimate

We have absolutely zero to go on to say what happened one way or another. Yeah, could have been an Aggie idiot. We have plenty. Also just as easily could have been an A&M hater who wanted to put the fanbase in a bad light and capitalize on the (justified) anti-Sumlin rhetoric after the ucla game.

Most every Aggie I've seen/heard have outright condemned the letter in addition to questioning its origins.

Condemning the letter is the correct response.

Automatically making assumptions as to its origin is not.

I don't like that virtue signaling shite.

These days, every pathetic dog-whistle trained human puppet rushes to be the first to "officially condem" x or y odious thing as a means of attention-seeking and self-promoting public signaling.

No thanks.

Where does that even end? Does everyone on earth need to pen an official condemnation of Hitler?

I think shitty stuff like writing n bomb letters to people is just obviously bad and no one needs to pathetically try to make themselves seem better than everyone else by releasing some declaration like "The Public Relations Department of Brad Smith, A Private Citizen of Rockwall, Texas Officially Condemns Random Racist Screed" as if anyone gives a crap.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. The brand damage is done, any corrections or follow ups will only matter to the hardcore Aggies that want to pretend they control the narrative.

The unfortunate truth is even without the letter we were destined to be a villain in all this. Before the letter hit social media sports journalists were already trying to paint a picture of us being ingrates for slowly running off Sumlin. The letter will just be part of the narrative in all future versions of the story of how A&M thinks to highly of themselves to imagine they can do better than Sumlin.

What sucks is it makes the whole year a slow death march, a lost cause, with no recourse. All of the momentum Sumlin's early success brought to the program will be completely lost before our next coach, which means unless we get a Chip Kelly level hire we probably have some unfun rebuilding years ahead of us.

Good lord you paint with a broad brush.

I think it's very possible CS did it, but acting like its 100% is excessive and yes, embarrassing.

And example of why it's really disappointing on how we as a fanbase have handled this

Of course it's not 100%, but the fact is nobody would be accusing her of it if her first instinct was to post it on Twitter. That action along with when it was posted is what draws suspicion.

Regardless of where the letter came from, her OBVIOUS attempts to publically associate A&M with racism come off as spiteful. Saying that doesn't mean I defend the content of the letter. If someone sent it to them, their racist dumbass should be at least publically humiliated if not prosecuted.

Glass half full guys; how impressive is it that the Sumlins received no racial threats or letters until year 6? I mean I think that's gotta be significantly above average.

Surely you are intelligent enough to see the difference between a large organization like A&M condemning something that the media has naturally associated them with and random private citizens condemning it

There are plenty of people whose first thought wasn't to condemn the letter but to instead go after Charlene. Lots of them on TA, and a few here.

I don't care who wrote the letter and what it said tbh. "Ig'nant" people are gonna be "ig'nant" and I think most of us know that.

Having said that, our recruits probably don't feel the same way. They probably see stuff like this and think twice about how our fanbase sees "racism".

And worst case scenario, how will our fanbase look if the letter is actually traced back to someone? How fricking stupid would we look if the racist letter was real and not written by Charlene as some think it was? Lot of damage to be done by internet PIs with very little to gain.

Just to be clear, when I say the letter was "legitimate" I mean it came via mail from someone other than Charlene. The letter could have come from a Longhorn or a Bear.

I just don't want to see mouth breathers here writing it off as Charlene's. It's just making us look dumb and downright ignorant (mostly because the author of the letter will never be found). We will NEVER find the author of the letter and making Charlene a suspect only makes us look like morons
