NCAA Tournament?
NIT Berth?
Being a good guy?

Can't use the "he doesn't have his players" excuse anymore. Roberson is the only player left who played under Turgeon and Green is the only other player who signed prior to Kennedy arriving.

Probably NCAA tourney or he's at the very least on a very hot seat if not out.

NCAA tournament appearance at minimum. There are no more excuses.

For me, he can start by not losing to a bottom-feeder at home...(Rice, Southern, etc.)

Baby steps, right?

That helps. But it's NCAA or bust. The guy coaching UVa had 2 .500 seasons and might have had his breakthrough in year 3, so it will take around 23+ wins for there to be a 4th year-by comparison.

This.

If Kennedy doesn't make the Big Dance, then I'm inclined to believe that Hyman will make room to hire one of "his guys."

It would take something really bizarre for him to not make the NCAA's and still keep his job imo. He's out of excuses, he has enough of his players, and he needs to show progress. The AD will also be in a different situation financially next year than this year and be able to go out and money whip a top coach just as Hyman did with the KState guy while at USC.

Personally I am hoping he can turn it around though and make the conversation moot. The biggest question mark to me is how we replace Elston Turner. I think the overall talent will be improved but that doesn't mean we will have someone that can score like that and you have to score.

Q. Coach, can you address any post season thoughts after this game?
COACH KENNEDY: Well, you know I think it's a long shot that we get to the NIT. I'm proud of what our team has been able to accomplish but you got to win games late in the year and we come up -- I think we've come up a little bit short.

Aside from beating Kentucky in Rupp and barely having a record above .500, what did the team actually accomplish?

Not having back to back wins since the 2nd week in January?

Finishing 11th in the weakest major conference in college basketball?

Seriously, what over the course of the season did the team accomplish?

What he should have said was a better version of coach speak - as in "We are disappointed in the way the season turned out. There are some positives we can draw (name them here) but we cannot just assume that we will automatically get better (insert more coachspeak here)".

Had I heard his answer as a journalist, my follow up question would be, "What specifically did you accomplish this season?"

Tourney or he's out...should be pretty cut and dry. He'll have had enough time.

what a sad person you are.

bitch, bitch, bitch.

its all you do.

you even get pissy that the coach didnt sum up the season as negatively as you'd like.

your incredibly myopic negativity a really bad look for you man.

I'm glad you aren't on any of our teams with your attitude b/c you'd be a locker room cancer sucking the life out of everyone.

You still haven't answered the original question, which tells me that you would give him a 4th year even if he pulls a Watkins and goes winless.

no, I probably wouldn't give him a 4th year if he doesnt make the postseason. Of course you have to look at everything as a whole. If the team has major injuries but the recruiting is looking good there could be some leeway.

But whatever. I've already said elsewhere next year cant be like this one so to your stupid bullshite.

Couldn't you just as easily say that about this season?

Texas A&M's KenPom Ratings

2011-12: # 114

2012-13: # 102

Statistics don't lie. Now that's progress!

this is why talking with you can be like taking crazy pills.

I've told you several times why I believe he should get more time than two years.

I shouldn't have to do it every single time you start complaining about him.

Ok then, at what point are the players on the team no longer Turgeon's players?

This season, only Ray Turner and Kourtney Roberson played a single minute under Turgeon. Keith Davis was "processed" in December.

Next season, the only player who played a single minute under Turgeon will be Roberson and the only player who signed with A&M before Kennedy took over left will be Jordan Green.

At what point can he be held responsible for sub-standard results? Tony Barone got six years. Melvin Watkins got seven. They had one postseason appearance COMBINED.
