"The Aggies will play Kansas State at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Wed., Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. The Wildcats have already been officially announced by the bowl.
A&M (8-4 overall, 4-4 in SEC) will play the Wildcats (8-4 overall, 6-3 in Big 12) for the first time since 2011, when the two were both members of the same conference.
The Aggies are 8-7 all-time against Kansas State but the Wildcats have won the past three meetings. A&M defeated Kansas State in the 1998 Big 12 Championship game in two overtimes, 36-33. It was the beginning of a five-game winning streak for the Aggies in the series."

Maybe make it an Aggy ark get together?

Disappointing considering where we were 5 weeks ago. But:
-Primetime game
-Fertile recruiting ground
-Beatable opponent
-Convenient for fans, which is big since I doubt many people are going to go out of their way to see this team play another game
There are a lot worse bowls we could be in

Yep we can have a decent turnout in Houston. No doubt that played in the minds at the SEC offices.

bill Snyder is going to punish aggy for losing to both Mississippi schools I believe.

This year's team are quitters, so I gave up on them and will not be rewarding their lack of effort with spending my $ to see them.
It's unfortunate cause I'm sure it would be fun, but one has to have principles.

Can they run the football?
Yes? We fricked.

I'll likely go since I live here, but definitely a boring game.

Honestly, looking at the other SEC bowls, the Texas this year is one of the few with a good kickoff time. Most are either in the during the work week or early in the morning. A couple hit both of those negatives. (all times CST)

Kansas State? Really? What a boring arse, no name opponent! I really hate playing old Big12 opponents. We left them for a reason.
This season a dud that keeps on not giving.

lose stupid games, win stupid prizes. nobody to blame but ourselves. we deserve nothing better than this.
Snyder is far and away a better coach than Sumlin, I wouldn't be surprised with a loss.

I guess you're right. It could have been a lot worse. We could have drawn Iowa State or TCU with their small boring fanbase who nobody cares for.
We didn't move to the SEC to play Kansas fricking state. There's just nothing to get excited about. Bowls are usually interesting because we play opponents we rarely see or are new to us. We've seen K-State and their boring tame fanbase in the past. Anyone else remember the Fall semester as a student? The Baylor, Iowa state, Kansas and Kansas State weekends were the days you would give away your sports pass and go home. I would have much rather played NC State, UNC, or Pitt. Give us something new instead if rehashing old boring series we didn't care about. Miami would have been a WAY better opponent.

Welp, we're going to lose this one. Sumlin can't hold Snyder's jock.

We didn't move to the SEC to not ever play Big 12 teams again either. In fact, the main reason we moved was to have a far larger available marketing footprint and to have access to potential SECN $$$.

So what you are saying is you are two percenter?
Although, you are clearly qualified to be on the playoff committee since you seem to only care about seeing the top blue bloods in the big games!

In 122 years of football A&M has played KSU just 18 times. Only 10 of those were in Big 12 play. In the 15 years we were a member 9 were regular season and 1 was the glorious Big 12 title game. Overall we went 5-5 vs KSU as a Big 12 member.
Their records and game scores
L - '96 - 9-3
L - '97 - 11-1
W - '98 - 11-2
W - '00 - 11-3
W - '01 - 6-6
W - '04 - 4-7
W - '05 - 5-6
L - '08 - 5-7
L - '09 - 6-6
L - '11 - 10-3
I also don't understand the dig at their fanbase? They are one of the Big 12 teams that consistently fills their stadium and happen to also be very nice people.
