ok, so I know that nationally we pretty much wrecked every Big12 school in the TV ratings this last year.

However, does anyone know where to get the ratings for DFW, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin?

I apparently stunk at using the google machine so any help would be much appreciated

The local media (Chron) didn't publish any numbers this year, which is odd because David Barron usually does it for every sporting event.

Your best bet is to pretend you're buying a TV add from a cable system or local TV station and ask to see ratings for all of their sporting events vs competitors. But even then they probably won't release actual numbers since they usually like to and manipulate data for potential buyers.

Maybe an ad agency?

I believe David Barron for the Houston Chronicle publishes them weekly but I have no idea how to get a full list. Someone for DMN started doing so this year as well. Not sure about the rest. I'd probably suggest emailing Barron

Speaking of ratings, the DMN listed the ratings for all five Texas schools in the NCAA's.

Baylor had the same rating as Stephen F. Austin. So either there are a ton of Utah alums in DFW, or Baylor is as overrated as we think.

Can't find what you are referencing but here's a tweet

@bhorn55
NCAA Tourney TV ratings in DFW: Texas loss (2.8); SMU loss (1.5); Baylor and SFA losses (1.1); Texas Southern loss (0.2).

Don't really think it's that surprising. Baylor is always a bad tv draw as they have a very small fanbase and are in that middling spot - too good to be a cinderella and not good enough to get national attention.

OTOH, I never knew how many Lumberjacks I knew until the last two tournaments. They have definitely come out of the woodwork
